I finally broke down and bought a pair of good glass. I settled om the Minox HG 10 x 52 BR asph. I done a side by side comparison at Sportmans Whorehouse, trying various binoculars looking through them trying to see the subtle differences and it was a toss up between Ziess, Minox and Stiener the Ziess had a slight brightness edge on the Minox but for the price the Minox got the cash. The Stieners 10 x42s were very impressive I almost went with them.

As for Swarovski and Lica it sure would be nice to have a pair. They are definitely in a class by themselves and the price is just out of my league ...They are what they are 'The Best'

I don't feel handicapped at all with this choice, since they are in contrast a far lead over what I been using for all these years Bushnell and Nikon.

Does anyone use the German glass? and tell me what your experience has been like hunting coyotes with them. Am I in for a treat...Thanks!

I hate to carry heavy binos and last year I bought a pair of Leica 8x20 ultravids. They are a compact bino and are not the same animal as the full size binos. However they are very nice for what they are I would put them up against all but the best full size. I will one day own a pair of Swarovski 10x40 EL's if I can hit the right numbers on the lotto.

When calling, I use my binos to check out open fields before I walk through and sometimes before I get up from a stand if cats are on my mind. I have heard good things about Minox and they should serve you well, I just think they're a little heavy so get a bino harness for them. You should be fine with them, especialy for spotting coyotes.

I use binoculars. Like when deer hunting. Or, from the truck, to get a better look at something. But on stand? Never occured to me? If I need to look at something on stand, I do what all the experts (writers) advise against, and use my scope. Strangely, I am still able to sleep at night. Fuck them experts. My binoculars are under the seat when I return.

Yes the Minox I got are a bit heavy than what I'm used to but its only going to bother me a little its the price you pay when you upgrade to a full size binocular, anyway most glass in this category are heavy, but these are light in comparison.

Yeah! I hear that bout winning the lotto the sky would be the limit then....Just for fun I'd have machinist CNC machine me a bracket so I can mount two 20 x 80 Swarovski spotting scopes in tandem...No I wouldn't pack them around they would go in my observation tower in my new cabin/castle over looking at least a 100 acres of of prime hunting habitat, with an integrated underground shooting range a ballistics lab if would...

But instead I would probably be physically locked up with some some crazy sexy Brazilian bitch on a beach somewhere making a real mad chucky face if you catch my drift....LOL [Mad]

edit: but, you know, if you want full size top of the line glass, that = heavy. Some are heavier. I have never seen where Swarvoski outperforms Zeiss? I was down in Cabo fishing once and the guy in the next cabin was Austrian....from Austria. Just chit chating, I asked him about the legendary Swarovoski binoculars and he said he never heard of them?

No! Leonard those at the flying J are working the lots hence the term 'lot lizard' Tom spoke of hitting the jackpot and I just added my fantasy and if I ever win yes I will have to upgrade from the lots that is certainly true..If flying J had Brazilian bitches the whole trucking industry would be in big trouble.

My Ex-inlaws are from Germany actually Bavaria and they too don't know famous German quality glass...Don't know why.
