Has any one here had any luck getting a pair of Nikons fixed under waranty without proof of purchase?

Have never tried with binoculars. But have had two different Nikon scopes repaired or replaced without a receipt or other proof of purchase. Took them 3 months to get the one scope fixed though.

Dogn, I am fixing to find out. I have a pair of nikon atb binos that are being sent in. We'll see what happens.

Had one very bad experience with Nikon binocular warrtanty. Am curious how they will treat you, so let us know.

About five or six years ago I bought a new pair of Nikon binculars, 10x50 in one of their low to medium priced models and it had a one year warranty. We baby binoculars, but within the year, one of the optical elements came loose inside, so the right eye would never focus right and felt like it was twisting your eyeball out.

Nikon wanted $29 as I recall plus shipping to repair them under warranty, but a dealer got me a warranty price of 19.95. OK, so I sent them in, and when I got them back they seemed to be OK but within a half hour of use whatever was loose came loose again, same conditon in which I sent them in.

Nikon insisted that I had "broken" them again and wanted another $29 plus shipping to fix them again. They would not budge. Neither would I so I wrote them off as a loss and never had them "fixed" again. After that I learned that one of the largest shooting sports stores in the Pacifc NW had stopped carrying Nikon binoculars and spotting scopes because of customer disatisfaction with warranty. I've heard of several guys, all of them at least three years or more ago who had warranty problems. In the past year or two, I've heard nothing but good on Nikon warranty.

Maybye I'm stupid but I bought a pair of Nikon binoculars three days ago, this time with a no-fault life time warranty. The store said they would stand behind them if Nikon doesn't, and he said they have really improved their sport optics warranty service. To my eyes, Nikon has the best optics for the money of anything out there. I'm hoping nothing ever goes wrong with the pair I just bought.

For what its worth, I have never heard a bad word and only praise about Nikon's camera warranty, only lots of problems with their sport optics. Hope that's changed. Let us know.

About two years ago I had a Nikon scope that wasn't right (loose reticle). I sent it back to Nikon to have it repaired under warranty. I sent it to CA 2-Day air and they sent it back the same way. Total time from my house back to my house was 10 days...and it was fixed right.

I have no complaints!

I've owned three pairs of Nikon's Action series binoculars. About every three years, something would go wrong with the pair I was currently carrying. I had bought all pairs on sale as the new model was getting ready to come out. Got them for $89 or $99 on sale each time.

Great price new, best optics for the price in my opinion, but the damned things don't hold up in the field at all.

I own two Nikon Monarch UCC scopes and I swear by them. Have one mounted on a .270 and the other on a .338 Win mag. I've owned them both for probably eight years without a single problem. Damned rugged and superb optics.

But the binoculars? Not happy and won't be buying another pair.
