been looking for an alternative to replacing scopes for night hunting... I have all Bushnell Trophy's on my rifles and am highly pleased with performance and clarity...

the problem lies in hunting on the new moon where it is very dark out... during any moon phases from 1/4 moon on I can see well with my large objective scopes but was looking for an alternative to light up the crosshairs for the dark nights... anyone have experience with these things?... I've heard both good and bad about them, looking for a little more actual experience... thanks... Dale...

The thing is, without a spotlight, the crosshairs are extremely difficult to pick up, especially ranging or mildot, sights with a lot of clutter. Dot reticles are the hardest, unless you have a blanket of snow.

If you go for an illuminated, get one that can be adjusted. If not, allow the battery to run down about half way, or they can blind you.

Good hunting. LB

Hey, Rock I just wanted to add a little. I've looked through some friends Ill recs & would have to say stay away from the ones where the entire cross hairs are lite up. You can turn them down & they're "ok", but for me it was putting too much light into my eye & "blocking" my view of the target. This being at night looking at a 'yote under red light.
I've been hunting w/ a 4-12x50 Simmons thats not illuminated & it has a fine duplex, which becomes hard to find at night sometimes, especially with any distance.
I've ordered a Mueller sport dot 4-16x50. It has pretty neat set up & I've heard & read some real good things about the scope & its clarity. The price is good too. I know, I know, you get what you pay for, but trust me, I am the guy that researches stuff to death & way overthinks it before I buy. I'm excited about it, but the darn thing is on back order & I won't get it until the end of the month. [Frown] Here's a link.. web page 16x50IGR.htm
