Man,this thing is big,I'm trying not to have the big scope blues .Waiting on the mounts then I'll mount my rifle on the scope .And yes it does look like a WWII german grenade,but looks way good when looking the important way!!

Need a scope for my little cz-do the small objective lens give up light gathering abilities?
Any opinions on low light performance of say a 26mm-32mm compared to a 40mm-42mm?? That's as big as I want to go,[now]^probably a 3x9.
Also do you-all dislike adjustable objective's on a calling gun? Sporterweight

I think the smaller objective does limit the low light performance, but coupled with the lower power, I don't know how much?

As far as "calling gun" scopes go, this means different things to different people. I have a straight 4X on one calling gun. I have a 4½X14 on another. AO is nothing to be afraid of, but can easily do without. I will say this: you seldom have a need for magnification above twelve power when dealing with predators. In fact, change that seldom to virtually never.

This is the one place I seem to disagree with ost callers. I love power. Magnififcation power that is. But remember that this is wide open country. I have a 6 to 24 on my calling rifle and I run it on 14 all the time. I never turn it down. I have shot coyotes close and far and just leave it there. I would say that my average shot is 80 to 100 yds because thats where I try to stop them and I like the sight pic of a coyote at 100 at 14 power. But its a personal preference deal, probably not for everyone or everywhere.

Well, you are in fast company, Cal. I understand that Ed Sceery prefers a 6X18 on his calling rifle. I own a 6X24 Burris, and have tried it on predators. It limits my shooting time considerably. The low light capability is very poor, at any magnification.

But, the other angle I am coming from is night hunting. Anything beyond twelve is useless, for me and everybody I ever talked to about the subject. I think there's a reason why the European scopes are generally 3X12X56?

I know a shooter wiggles just as much with a scope on 6x as 24x the 24x just shows you more!I guess you've just gotten use to that or are rock steady in your aim.INTERESTING...Must be the latter I've seen you posing with a few.
I find 9x to be a very high setting for me in the east.I've got an old 16x leupold and can't fathom using it for calling here.Heck I can't shoot it off sticks very well.
Anybody use lighted reticles for low light or night? Sporterweight
