I just got my new Leupold in[8.5 by 25LR]and I'm sending it off to premiere for either a gen2 mil-dot or a range finding retical. The problem is I dont know for sure which to install. The gen2 will hold the dots at the same impact at any power setting and the range finding will allow me to add a second line horrizontally at a set distance, for coyotes I was suggested it to be 9in.I wont go into detail how it works, you probally already know. The range finding will also have dots out to 1000 for my bullet path.I would have to check out the mil-dots on the card and at the range to confirm my impact point and note them.BUT,the range finding retical would be limited to that rifle and that round.Just wondered if someone could give me that tip that would help me make up my mind. Thanks

Is this strictly a coyote gun? What caliber?

No Leonard its not strictly a coyote gun.Its a rem700 300rum I had rebarreled with a shilen match.A PPS model when new.Weighs in at 12 pounds.Too heavy for elk in the high country, but will make a great long range antelope, coyote rifle.Shoots the nosler 125bt exceptionally well.Running at almost 3700.Its basically another expensive toy.
Just wondering what retical you guys would put in.

If it were me, of the two, I'd go for the gen2 mildot. But, you wouldn't be wrong, either way.
Good luck, LB
