I have some "shotgun only" areas to hunt.Been looking pretty hard at a Remington model 11-87 in 20 gauge,fully rifled,gas operated.Anyone using one?Accuracy at 100 yards?

No, but I do have an 11-87 special purpose in mossy oak, twelve gauge several years just sitting in the safe collecting dust if anyone wants to buy it. Great for turkeys and varmint. Prolly 40-50 rds thru it.
440- If your shotgun only areas are the same as mine it's actually a "solid projectile" law on shot larger than BB.
A rifled barrel would make it a rifle.

Gary,
When you start to use slugs, buy a box of every different type and brand that you can find. Then test them on paper.
Some will shoot high, some low and other left to right. Find the one's that you gun likes the best. They can act just like a rifle ( Or worse ) when it comes to being finicky.

You are right on Furhvstr,I did a little checking around and the solid projectile law is in effect,that kinda foils my big plans,Hmmmmmm.
I'll shoot you an email about that 11-87,guess a guy could get a rifled barrel for it?

The 12 ga. slug really raises hell on the coyote. If calling with a partner watch where you shoot those slugs are known to bounce and bounce.
About ten years ago dureing deer season a hunter wounded a deer and walked up to finish it off with a neck shot. The shooter was about 15 feet from deer when he shot, the slug went through the deers neck and bounced for fifty yards hitting the hunters brother who was off to his right. the slug went into the brothers thigh hitting a major artury and he bleed to death right there...
