Ok, so I couldn't take my own advice and today I walked out with another Remington SPS in .204 Ruger. What loads are you guys shooting, I cleaned up my reloading bench and lost all my info. I stll have some RE 10X but nothing else so is there something new and what bullets are you using now?

35 grain bergers with 28 grains of H4895.They run about 3850-3900 fps in my rifle.Good Hunting Chad

Albert, how do the Noslers do? I called Midway today and ordered brass and 200 of the Berger 35 pills but they were out, I now remember why I don't use Bergers much, they did have the 40 grain Noslers so we'll see.
Last go round I tried Hornady and Sierra, 40 and 39 grain, the Sierras shot well but I was disappointed in how they performed on coyotes. The Hornadys wouldn't shoot in my gun so I ditched them pretty early. All in all maybe I gave up on the caliber too quick, we'll see. Now back to searching for those Bergers.

I like the way the noslers perform on coyotes. I killed about 30 coyotes with them now and I feel that I have found a good combination.
For interest the 40 grain v-max you shot where they factory ammo or handloads?
My rifle has shot all the 40 grain bullets well. Althought the 40 grain factory stuff shot poorly once it cooled off.

Albert, the 40 grain Vmax's were factory loads and I think they shot around an inch and a half. Really not bad but the 39 grain sierras (reloads w/10x)shot around a half inch as did the 32 grain vmax's(factory). I bedded the actions and floated the barrels, then adjusted the triggers.
I did find some 35 grain bergers and ordered 200 of them. Think I'll pick up some H4895 as well. Everything should get here by mid-week and I'll load up a few different loads. Hopefully I'll get to shoot it this weekend and I got my fingers crossed it shoots as good as the last one I had.
One other note, Remington has discontinued the SPS in 22-250 and 204, you can get them in the new SPS varminter they now offer but no more standard guns.

Tom in the summer when I got the gun, Rem 700 vls it shot factory ammo into 3/4" or less in the fall when I started getting ready for coyotes the same lot of factory ammo shot over the inch. handloads with forty grain v-max where always under the 1/2".
The 39 grain sierras are not a coyote bullet.

That's pretty encouraging as the 39 grain sierras were the main bullet I tried on coyotes and what I based my opinion on. I've heard nothing but good about the 35 grain bergers and now it looks like the 40 grain noslers are good to go as well. I'll know soon enough. Thanks for the info!
