New memeber here. Looking where to find 5mm Magnum ammo for a friend of mine. Any ideas? Thanx.

Welcome to the New Huntmasters, gutpile. Glad to have you on board.
You really start off with a dewzie! Last I heard that 5mm rimfire ammo was scarce as hens teeth, and that was years ago. I also heard it was too expensive to actually shoot. But, I could be wrong?
Good hunting. LB
edit: wait a sec. I don't know about 5MM Magnum. What's that?

Gutpile,
Leonard hit that one on the head.I used to have one, both my Dad and younger brother each have one.Great little gun but ammo is over 45 bucks for a box of fifty. So not a real cost efficient gun to shoot. My dad,and brother just keep there's for sentimental reasons. It might pay for Remington or some other company to start making the ammo again.GOOD HUNTING C.O

Thanx you guys. My friends uncle gave him this 5mm. He has found some ammo for a mere $100 a box. So I told him I'd poke around. I love huntin' them thar coyotes. It's a real challenge. I use a single shot T/C Encore 22-250, Bushnell 6x18x50 A/O with a 2.5 # trigger pull. I live to do this. Just got real serious last year on them dogs. I use mouth calls only.

Well, my advice is:
Save that 5mm. for sentimental reasons, and go get yourself a Marlin (or other) .17 HMR.
You will be VERY Happy!
Enjoy . . .

I understand that Cooper converts the 5mm rimfire to a centerfire version. Same diminsions, bolt modfication. Another option if you really like the little gun.
