I have one very similar to that, that I picked up........somewhere. Always planned on hanging a Crit-R-Call Magnum tone board on the end, but have never gotten around to it.

So.......you got a good looking horn; what-cha gonna do with it?? (You don't seem to be the 'Talley-Ho, the fox' type on horseback.) [Wink]

Just recently, I stumbled upon a dead steer with a nice set of horns. I don't know about the potential danger of anthrax, real or imagined? I usually decide not to mess with it.

Koko,

I just felt an urge to try building one, and had to satisfy that urge. [Big Grin] I did make a recording, but can't get to my site to make a hot link so I can post the sound here. Hey, how about one of you guys try going to www.cronkpredatorcalls.com I don't know if my site is broke or what.

Alright you silly non believers, here is what a blowing horn sounds like. Not too bad for an old fart that is just learning how to blow one of these stupid horns. [Big Grin]

I'm not so sure if any one gets what you mean Rich by blowing horn, hey perhaps I don't get it.
But I thought a blowing horn is or was used to call in the hounds or to let some one know you were coming into camp.
Rich your Lone howl is one of the best I have heard in a while.
I have never had a chance to hear a wolf short of TV but your Wolf Howl sounds what I think a wolf should sound like.
Your cottontail Scream kicks ass and sounds as good as any thing out there put out as a woodpecker sound.
Any way an old time lion hunter name of Ben Lilly used a blowing horn to call his hounds in.

Cayotaytalker,
Thanks for the kind words regarding my sounds. You are correct about the blowing horn being used to call hounds etc. Old time warriors used blowing horns to signal their friends that the enemy was coming. Brass bugles and trumpets work on the same principle.
