I'm told that they will be tooling up in the very near future so if you ever wanted an original Herb's Howler, lucky you!

That was the first howler I ever bought. Along with the first shooting sticks.

Yeah, me too. Still have it.
All I know is Herb and his son's widow plan on marketing and (I guess) manufacturing the original howler in the near future. The reed protector on mine, lost long ago, was a three inch length of garden hose.

My original Herbs was a very good howler. It had the garden hose reed protector, and the raw horn stunk like anything, but it sure did howl well. I can't remember what I ended up treating the inside of that horn with to help lessen the stink. I re-worked one of the newer ones after Herb quit making them himself. It was pretty, but the sound quality wasn't very good. I hope their brand new plan produces a howler that works as well as the original Herb's did.

Not sure if I still have mine or not. I've given away most of my old stuff. If I still have it though, I'll get a picture of it up within the next couple days.

Okay, Koko gets the contraband artifacts.
Since you asked... Feeling "pretty good" and the BP is fine. Last life insurance exam they said my cholesterol was kinda high though .
That recipe sounds great! I'm kinda in self induced detox right now though. Except for mixing in a couple steaks here and there, almost all I ate for the previous two weeks was fried sea food. Drank mostly rum to wash it down. Smoked real cubans and did tequila shots in the evenings. So I'm trying to cool it for a bit right now. I'll wait until after Thanksgiving to try that recipe .

I never smoked a Cuban that I actually enjoyed. Give me a nice mild Partagas rolled in the Dominican and I am content. I will leave the Cubans for the real he men amongst us. Besides, the prices are insane. Aren't they?

Ok, here we go..............
Get some portabella mushrooms & set aside.
In a bowl, mix; Some cream cheese sour cream chopped artichoke hearts a little basil a drop or two of Tabasco if so inclined pinch & a half of garlic salt & pepper.
Moisten the `rooms with olive oil fill the gills with the cream cheese mix top with thin slices of tomatos Grill on the top shelf of the B-B-Q while the Ka-Bobs are cookin'.
Now, if you're trying to lose weight, let me know; I have a killer diet grilled peach recipe. (Or is it diet killer?? I get confused) ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Sounds delicious!
And, yeah, I've got a grilled peach recipe the family likes and it's definitely a diet killer. Aside from the peaches, it's basically just cream cheese, butter and sugar, with some cinamon thrown in.

Tim; "Sardeans, pickled herrig & smoked oysters.....man food" Down this way we call that......`Bait`......Eh??
El Bee; The Shisk-Kabobs are the Man-Food. The mushrooms are just a tasty bit of class & one-upmanship on your buddies.
Dave; My peach recipe probably has 5X that many calories per serving. We're talking MAJOR sugar rush!!! ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)
