Im ordering a CS24 tomorrow. I only want to cry once. I have left a couple of you messages. Before I order, is speaker loud enough for anything or is there any reason I should order the Krakatoa with the 30 speaker?

Just another c note. If it will operate at lower volume clearly and there may be a need for the added volume, Ill get it.

Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Thanks in advance fellers.

Andy, I can't imagine you ever needing more volume that you get with the 10W TOA. If you do, get you another 10W TOA and you'll not only have more volume, you'll be able to operate both sides of the stereo amplifier. The 10W TOA is clear as can be throughout the whole volume range. Good hunting at ya.

*********All FOXPRO ALL THE TIME FORUM*********

Andy, only the guys that have to hunt when the wind is blowing 35 MPH, all the time need that big speaker. You don't.

That larger speaker might help you keep your balance if you hold it over your head and spin 360's at the beginning of your stand. <chuckle>

Andy,
You won't need any more volume than a standard 10 watt model will give you. You most certainly don't want to run two speakers, because it will run your batteries down twice as fast.

Andy,

I would do what Al suggested and get the 10w CS24 but then look to ebay for another SC610 speaker. According to TOA specs the SC615 is only rated 2db louder than the SC610! The 30w Krakatoa speaker is hugh and it uses a different driver!

I just sent you an email...

Get the 10Watt as mentioned, you'll hate lugging that monstrous 30 watt model around. If the 10Watt can't do it, it's time to head home and go into the root cellar to avoid the tornado.

Andy,
If you are actually gonna tote two speakers, I would advise picking up an extra set of batteries while you are at it. Oh yeh, as long as you are on ebay, don't forget to purchase a wheel barrow to haul the un-needed crap.

I'll be the odd man out here....

I agree that the standard speaker is fine for predator calling.

However, if crows are on the menu get the biggest most efficient speaker you can buy. I've never seen any commercial call come even close to a homebrew with lots of amp and even more speaker(s) when it comes to crow calling.

I will say that an extra battery pack is handy, I have one with Energizer Lithium batteries in it and one with rechargeables. If I need it I just unplug the old one and plug the fresh set in.

The Lithium batteries weigh very little, hold their charge for years (without use) and have more power than rechargeables. Down side is they are expensive but the best thing is they are not affected by the cold so I can have a fresh set of batteries ready to go if ever needed.

I do have an extra TOA speaker from my Minaska days. It works fine but I never use it on coyotes, though for crows it is worth carrying (on the 4 wheeler).

On my rechargeables I have some Sanyo 2700 batteries that once I got them fully charged, seem to last forever.

Thanks for all the help guys. Its been a educational and fun discussion. I just ordered the damn thing, along with a AP6, a Sceery Secret Weapon and a new lanyard. It will be here Wednesday next week.

Ill quit asking stupid questions and buggin everyone. Special thanks to Calvin and Gary for taking the time to talk to me on the phone and answer even more stupid questions and giving advice.

Im hoping this is the last call I order for many years. I think I got the sounds I want. 50 was damn near too many, some I got Im sure will never be played. Got plenty for my boys to crow hunt and plenty for coon callin. (Ill have to see if they allow coons in their contest. If so, we may have a shot at it this fall. Thats a fun game and we got more coons than coyotes and foxes combined.)

Just got off the phone with AP Jones. He is one heck of a nice guy and a pleasure to talk to. Ive ordered several things from him over the years, met him a couple times and he is a great guy.

On another note, I went to the doctor yesterday. Everything is healing properly. I started this morning on the treadmill, just a little to start, and lifted some light weights. He said to work up very slowly, but hey, Im not laying in bed and not sedimentary. Time to get back in shape, get some strength and get rid of the weight I gained in the last year since this accident. I hope by September, I will be ready to go with Cal on his trophy hunt and bear huntin in October. God willing and nothing else happens.

Thanks for you input and patience fellas.

All Foxpro, All the Time, signing off. [Cool]

Good to hear of the news from the doc.

"and get rid of the weight I gained in the last year since this accident"

If you figure that one out, let me know. LOL Gets onto ya fast, don't it? I spent several weeks on my back a little over a year ago for a bulged disc in my back, and another couple months taking it easy during physical therapy and light duty at work. During that time, along with several new blood pressure med trials, I gained about 25 pounds that just won't leave me alone. They sure are easier to get than to get rid of, and with all the walking I do in this heat, you'd think it would just run off of me.

Anyway, 'nuff bitchin'. Good to hear your follow up went well.

Yeah, it comes on fast. For the last year, Ive not done shit. Couldnt. Pain pills and anti inflamitory pills dont help, not to mention the 5 gallons of steroids.

Yeah, it comes on fast and goes off slow.

Andy, sounds like you have the caller situation all figured out..Cool..

Better yet, the ole' body sounds like it's comin' around.

Seems like a good time to bust out a few Miller Lites and celebrate [Big Grin]

Andy hope it's not to late but you may want to hold off! I got a tip from a very reliable source, thanks for the pic LB, that a new FP was in the works with a couple added features.

The new feature is the Fox Shield, the caller is fitted with a small Hepa filtered vacum that sucks in all human scent or odor so it makes calling downwind worry free.

It also has the optional feature of turning the sucker into a blower and enabling the Fox Mister feature. Just fill the canister with you favorite misting solution and mist away.

As you can imagine the proto type in the pic is a bit larger that what it will be after it gets slimmed down by the research staff. Good news is that even the proto type is lighter than the Prairie Blaster now.

As you can see it is on 4 wheels so you can do the TINNITUS TWIRL ,developed in MN., easily at the end of a stand.

Thanks again LB for the pic and the insider info. that FP Pro Staff position is already payin dividends for ya!! Once again FP leadin the way.

Randy,
That thing is sturdy looking, it'd probably survive up here in the Arctic. At least they went with the metal speaker instead of a trash can looking piece of plastic. Keep us posted when the final product is available.

Just needs a good layer of treebark camo wrap and should be good to go!!!

Man, that's funny stuff Randy! [Big Grin]

RR, Is this new caller going to be completely remote controlled so that rather than packing it, it will just kind of follow me along? Better yet would be if I could set on top and ride it to the stand!

Posted by Andy L (Member # 642) on July 12, 2010, 06:43 AM:

Dammit! Always happens like that! I buy the best a company has to offer and within a week they announce a new product that completlely blows mine out of the water.

Randy, do you know if they are going to make a 4x4 model so we dont even need a truck? That would be kewl.

No baths, cause it sucks the scent away. No truck, just ride your call huntin. Hopeully the seat is comfortable enough to take midday naps in.

Oh well, it will take a year or two before they get the bugs out. And by then WT will probably have something similar, just not quite as good of quality. [Wink] [Big Grin]

I heard WT was working on an "EVE" prototype.

Like it's the first time you FP guys have seen this pic!!! Good one!!

From what I heard it will be a hybrid cross of C2-3PO and a motorized barstool.

I guess in Ca. ,our green state, it will be a Segway instead of the barstool.

Cal, I heard [Wink] there is going to be a professional model just for guys in our profession, with secret sounds etc.

Trust me Randy, there are "secret" sounds. Lots of them. Not everything gets released to the public. FoxPro is almost like that place in the Nevada desert where they hide the UFO's. I probably shouldn't post information like this. The black helicopters will be circling the house soon.

Cal, I know exactly what you mean, my guy has been giving me secret stuff for years. [Wink]

Don't you find it amazing that all these other guys are calling in anything at all!! [Cool]
