I have owned two WT units and the one thing that I always wish was the remote was more advanced. As I find myself switching between multiple sounds in order to accommodate my style calling, it becomes a hassle when dealing with so many sounds. So my question in general is why the remote can’t be much like some of the cell phones or MP3 players out there. I would like a digital screen were on the screen it would be much like an MP3 player and you can set up playlists if you have groups of sounds you want to be available at one time or you could see all the sounds to select from.
Also the cost of manufacturing could go down by instead of supplying a remote but a small software application the user can install on their phone. I say this out of total ignorance as I do not know the rules to such a thing but the idea comes from some of these remote start/GPS tracking units for cars. They give you website that you can go to on your phone and from anywhere in the world you can start your car, unlock the doors, and turn on or off the alarm. So really my line of thinking is why not do something similar with the WT remote. Now I realize I'm not going to want to play sounds 3 miles away but it seems to be a point of bragging on how far one's remote works also.
But in my opinion if I had a digital readout screen that allowed me to scroll through and select what sounds to play then that would be the cat’s meow.

I'd be happy with one that works EVERY TIME at 80 yards - or even 20 yards when I'm sitting in a hole in the dirt and the caller's in the dirt and I don't have to hold the remote over my head. I don't want the lcd screen either - I don't want to read it, or look at it, or have it glow in my face at night, or have the sun reflect off it. Even with dementia, I can still remember the numbers for my dozen favorite sounds and the locations of a dozen buttons just by feel. Fuck scrolling forever. The only thing it was ever good for was setting the presets in the truck, not hunting, especially not hunting solo.
Like a lot of guys, I'm wondering if the Foxpro spread-spectrum Fury lamb chop remote is going to be a good one. They added direct numerical sound addressing finally, just like the other brands. I think they used spread-spectrum just to help with the up close dirt hole problem, not to promise you a ridiculous range.

My remote has been working very well, but i don't set my caller more than a few feet away. Once you use it awhile its not to difficult to switch from one sound to the other, just push a few buttons and shoot.. ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)
