Does anyone have an electronic training collar that they would like to sell?
I'm not looking for any fancy high dollar equipment with a mile of reach. But something that can reach maybe 50 yards, with a tone or mild shock to remind a dog to pay attention, then one more button to knock his dick in the dirt when he chooses to decide that chasing chickens is more fun than listening to me.

I tried putting one on my wife.......boy did that get ugly!!! And then, Child Services said that I couldn't use it on my daughter. She was a teenager for Gawd's sake!!!! The neighbor's cat wouldn't come near me either......

Dan,
How much do you want for it?
Tim,
It's nothing that I haven't gone though with ever other dog that I've ever got. Chasing chickens is one of the hardest habits to break a hard headed dog from doing. I'm just looking to shorten his learning curve.
Kokopelli,
I've got an electronic bark collar here, do you want to try that? As long as she can stay quiet, it won't bother her at all.
I got it for another dog a few years back who developed the habit of barking for no reason in the middle of the night. That turned into a real train wreck. The dog barked, the collar nailed him, and he barked again in surprise, so the collar nailed him again.
He looked like a 115 pound version of the Tasmanian Devil from the cartoons. Spinning around barking, yelping and getting the shit knocked out of him all at the same time.
One O'clock in the morning, and Joyce was screaming at me to get the collar off of him, as he bit, clawed and rolled me through the sandspurs.
But by the third night, he had that collar figured out, and we haven't had the problem since.

Tim, I have an old Sportdog around here that you can have. It works fine and has about a 800 yard range. I use Tri Tronics now and if I can find all the pieces (chargers etc.) to this one I'll send it down. E-mail me your address when you get a chance. You will owe me a beer someday for the shipping.

Tim: I appreciate the offer, but after 32 years of marriage, I'm beginning to suspect that she's untrainable. Plus, with that whole opposable thumb thing, she might be able to figure out how to take the collar off & put it on me while I sleep.

Stick with the tried and true, koko. Whips and chains, using your opposable thumbs. Although I never tried it personally, Tim told me it works pretty good on Miss Joyce.
Good hunting. LB
edit: But then, why does he want a dog coller? It's pretty obvious it's not for the dog. [ December 01, 2008, 08:01 AM: Message edited by: Leonard ]

Leonard,
I don't need any help getting into trouble thank you.
I'm still in the dog house for telling a Nurse a few weeks ago that I got my ribs cracked for complaining about dinner being a little cold.
I knew that I was only joking, but the Nurse started taking notes and asking lots of questions. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

Cal,
Have you had any luck finding all of those parts and pieces?
He's really beginning to push his luck, and my patience.

Tim, I have a Tri-tronics 200, 2 dog, 1 mile range setup you can borrow if you want.
Well scrap that idea, the rechargeable battery won't charge. Must have been run down too long. [ December 07, 2008, 06:55 AM: Message edited by: Dan Carey ]

Sounds Great!
Do I need to get any batteries to have on hand, or is it all rechargeable?
What kind of beer do you prefer?

No batteries Tim, all rechargeable. As for UPS they suck. There was a local calling contest here this week and FoxPro graciously donated some callers to be given away. They left PA last Monday with a due date to be here on Friday. They lost them. So FP overnights 2 more on Friday guaranteed to be here by 11 am Sat. and they didn't show either, so I called UPS and they said they couldn't find the address, it didn't exist. I told them that was damn funny because I have been here about 7 years and UPS comes here about once a week it seems like. But the good news was they found the original shipment and it is due to be here by Tuesday. The only way I would forgive them for being such dumbfucks is if that chick delivers tommorrow and Tuesday.

Oops, Tim I forgot. Don't worry about the beer till I get down there someday. But I do like it Mexican and cold. I have given up on the native stuff. It causes me to be congested and gives me a headache. I must be alergic to something in the brew. I drank Bud for years but rarely do anymore.
