I recently received a wild life tech. caller.

When I watch coyote hunting video's my puppy pay's no mind to the mouth calls coming from the TV. While watching a movie that had a real puppy wimpering, my puppy spooked pretty hard. It was obviouse.

When I received my caller, I played all the sounds for my dog. He got real scared with the coyote sounds. I mean terrified. He would run and hide. With the vole and rabbit sounds, he would stick his nose in the speaker and walk around the unit, with a strong look of confusion.

I think there is something to this.

This newer unit is very nice. A lot better then the old style they first sold. The owner of the company spoke extremely high of the unit, but on the two highest volume levels, I can tell the sound is coming from a speaker. To me it's still worth it to buy this unit, even though the cost of the unit is high and the prices for the sounds are very high.

It looks like I won't have time to use this unit until labor day weekend.

All day and not a response? Usually, any mention of WT or Bill Martz generates five pages of exciting entertainment.

Good hunting. LB

Too bad you didn't hook up with Gary/Nahuatl he has been trying to sell his in the PM classifieds since Dec 06 and having lots of fun in the process.

Some guy, the other day, offered to trade him a Cooper model 21 in .17 Rem for the WT. The guy even posted pics of the rifle. The rifle had beautiful wood and looked dandy. I would jump on that trade.

That ad of Gary's is a "must read". If I had a job I'd buy the thing just for fun, not to mention that I would seriously use it.....

But, more than anything, if I were Gary I'd take the Cooper.

Rez, you got a good call, it's just that the company owner is lacking in some social graces. And possibly some other things.

Rez, Your "speaker sound" at top volume, is it a harmonic buzz? If so, try wrapping the speaker horn with vet-wrap. I wrapped mine with leafy camo, glued down with foaming glue. Toned down the harmonic buzz almost completely. That buzz comes from the vibration of the horn on the ground or whatever it's sitting on at top volume. A couple sounds give me distortion on certain pitches at peak volume, and so far I have one sound (adult bear distress) that has air noise, but overall, it's amazing how clear it sings. It's a great call.

Thanks Steve- I'll try wraping it.

Have you called in a bear with your unit? I also bought some bear sounds. One thing we have a lot of in N. Calif is bears.

Lets see if I can respond without getting beat up.

When I play my WT in the house, it is the fox sounds that drives my doggy (springer spaniel) cukoo for cocoa puffs!!!

The WT is a good caller, no doubt about it.

You have the wrong idea, Amigo. Nobody here is going to beat you up for owning a WT. The whole sorry situation has always been Bill and his methods. You want to do business with him, that's up to you. He makes a good product, I have always said that, I (personally) would never buy anything from the man. That's the way it is; but don't think you will be chastised, simply for owning his machine or saying something positive about it. And yeah, I'm a bit offended by your remark.

Geez, fellas, I got that out of a Navajo grade school language book!!! And I thought I was conversing with a refined group of fellas here. LOL Actually, I figured somebody would think that. Andy was brave enough to ask. I noticed Rezgulator said he was from near Tribal lands, so I was merely checking to see if he understood simple Navajo. It asks him "How much did you pay for it?" (the calling unit) Those of you who know me, know that I care how much something costs. I was just testing his knowledge. I'm sticking with my Foxpro. [Wink]

Leonard, please don't be offended by what I wrote.

There was talk awhile back about the coyote video that Bill made. I said I thought it was good and I hear the next one should be good also.

I was kinda flamed for my remark. No big deal really, I respect and value peoples opinions and have my own about certain people and products. I
just didn't wanna be called a cheerleader or whatever again. As I said before, I enjoy my WT and Bill has always been cool with me.

p.s. at least you guys didn't throw a shit fit and ban me like what happens on other forums!!

I like Mr. Bill too.

I'm even a lot like him, in the sense that I can make a good product, but I can also alienate people.

I just don't want to be like him anymore, and am making headway in that. [Smile]

Mr. Bill claimed that his video could make an expert out of anybody.

I offered him a huge opportunity, to attach that claim to my phenomenal failure rate.
Think of the fame of it, "This video make anybody an expert, even Krusty!"

When he declined, I lost a lot of faith in him.

If he doesn't believe in himself enough to give away one copy, how can I believe in him anymore?

No browning. I don't ban people unless greatly, and repeatedly provoked. If you got beat up, for being in favor of Bill's video, I probably wasn't paying enough attention because I don't like to see anybody ganged up on. But really, his video is pretty lame, and he has inaccurate information, and he used some deception. Other than that, I guess it was a good video. That's just my opinion, and obviously, we disagree, and that's perfectly okay. You certainly won't get banned for your opinion, on Huntmasters.

Good hunting. LB

I wasn't really serious when I said about the banning.

I did get dogpiled once when I said I liked the video. You musta been napping! [Wink]

But on another forum people would ask how the WT sounds, or WT vs. foxpro stuff.

I would answer that the WT blows foxpro away or something and the mods. would go crazy and send me messages saying "you can't talk like that about foxpro" or "no badmouthing our paid advertisers" Thats why I joked about being banned.

Yeah, and that's why I, http://www.huntmastersbbs.com/cgi/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi ain't beholden to advertizers. You get all the free advertizing you want, but without the support group.

But seriously. Next to the famous caliber debates, arguing about the various electronic callers available is sure to draw a crowd.

Good hunting. LB
