Maybe it's time for me to break down and get a new caller.
But I don't want 200 sounds. My little Foxpro is great, but it doesn't have the sound that I want, nor a remote. It does hold 7 spare sounds that I rarely use. I Love my JS512, but it is bulky and heavy, the remote no longer works, and I don't trust the new remotes to last very long.
I need a caller that will hold just one 30 minute sound loop, and has a 100 yard wireless remote capable of On/Off and Volume control, and comes in a package as small and lite as the Foxpro.
Does anyone make such a caller?

a 30 minute loop???
Tim, I expect you are going to have to make that yourself. I am not even sure the js or burnham bro tapes have 30 minute loops...
My new Bandit made it here... I plan to do some playing with some of the tapes I have to see if I can get part of them into a MP3 format, then maybe insert a challenge howl or fight over the rabbit cries... Then to try and get them onto a flash card and back into the caller...
Yes, a 5 - 8 sec sound byte over and over will send you looping yourself in a short while.

Look at it this way Norm. A caller with 200 sounds, each 15 seconds long, holds 50 minutes of sound.
I'm only looking for 30 minutes. Is it that difficult for someone to make a caller for someone who knows what they want?
For 95% of my stands, I will only use one sound. On those rare occasions that I do want a second sound, I've got plenty of handcalls to make them with.

Well, I think you can do that... I recorded one of my favorite sounds... I cut it down to 3 minutes, but I could easily keep it at 30....
Erase all the sounds on your memory card and then copy your loop to it....
There are alot of sounds on my bandit that I may never use, but at least I have them to work with...
So I agree with your thoughts.... and with today's technology, not that difficult to create.

With the new FoxPro, Tim, you can make your sound loops as long or as short as you want. You can use your storage pretty much however you want. I'm sure you can put 30 minutes of one sound on one number if that is what you want.

You might want to take a look at the FoxPro AR4. You will need an MP3 player, but at one meg a minute, you should be able to get one that would work for under 75 bucks plus the caller

Dang Cal, My first Prom date put out more than that, and she still went home a virgin.
Can't you give me just a little more than that? It'll only hurt for a few seconds..... Trust me.
Does this new Foxpro have a name? How much? How far will the remote work reliably? How can I get a sound off of a cassette and onto the Foxpro? Will I have to send DAA a box of Cigars AND a dozen roses to borrow his converter box?

Sorry Tim, just didn't know how much info you wanted. The AR4 with a MP3 is the most economical. But the new FX5 is what I have and you can pretty much record whatever you want and however long of sound loops that you want. The remote is great. I have had no problems with mine. I have tested it out to a couple hundred yards and it seems way more reliable than the old ones as far as working perfectly. The new FX5's don't have an adaptor box to record like the old ones. You plug your FoxPro directly into your computer and can either get sounds from FoxPro or you can download any sound file that you can get into your computer. The size is just slightly bigger than your old FoxPro, but it is considerably louder. No chips or cards to change or worry about. Up to 200 sounds, all self contained.

Tim B if you are looking for a caller i might just have what you need. Its a Dennis Kirk caller that runs off of a walkman cassette player. It has more volume than my Bandit big country. It needs a little tweaking but its still a good unit, Let me know if you want it, its youre's for the asking... Take care..
