How's it going leonard? It's been a while sence i'v been on the boards. I sure miss the good old days. lol I'm trying to get back up and running. Haven't been out calling in years and now that things are quieting down and I have some welcomed free time, it's time. I see that maybe my JS 512 with remote might be a lead weight now days. I'm thinking of getting one of these new light weight callers but haven;t been around the boards to hear the pro and cons. The foxpro w/remote 469.99 alittle spendy. The JS praymaster 149.99 but no remote. The Predation w/remote looks OK at 249.99 The Extreme Dimension pro w/remote at 269.99 looks good also. I'm leaning towards the Extreme. What's your throughts. It's been quite a while since we have heard from you, Gene! Must be several years, in fact? Well, that's okay, at least you remembered an old friend.

I hope our members can fill in the blanks for you? One think I seem to recall is that the Extreme machine has a remote, but it's not wireless? Maybe they have changed it, don't know? There are several more, I think Johnny Stewart has an MP3 based unit, and there is the Loudmouth, probably more than that?

Oh yeah, I always say this, to a new member: Welcome to the New Huntmasters, Gene. Glad to have you on board! [Smile]

Good hunting. LB

Gene, that 512 is not an anchor... still one of the best on the market.

As for the MP3's, some are nice, expensive but nice. I saw the prototype of the JS call. It will possibly be much heavier than most would want. It is based on the battery and the transformer...

One caller that i have seen that is light to carry and does well is by Western Rivers.

The Loudmouth is pretty nice, pricey, but nice.

One can also go with their own mp3 players, the AZden transmitters and the powerpro if you wish...

Good luck... but don't give up on the 512!!!

Leonard and Norm, Thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering the Phantom Extreme Dimension. Took it out of the box added batteries and listened to the selection of calls. Took the batteries out, put it back in the box and sent it back. WHAT A PILE OF YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!!! The remote worked well and the unite is small, liteweight and compact. It's the sounds that are the down fall. Norm your right on about the 512. I've learned to apprecate it alittle more. It's going to be a hard unite to beat. I would like to see the new JS with remote that's comming out. You two take care, and I'll talk to ya later. Gene Sutton

Gene, several people I know like the Western rivers predation call.

You can order it from Cabela's, so if you need to, you can use the guarantee they provide...

With it, you can erase the sounds they send with it, and load up your own if you choose.

I know Tim got the loudmouth, but with the 60 sec delay versus the remote... I think he likes it... but I also know he likes that dueling cottontail tape from Burnham bros as well..

Norm You said you've seen the new JS caller with remote that is suppost to come out this summer sometime? When you say It's heavier than most would want, what would you say it weighs?? Same or less than the 512?? Just trying to decide if I should wait to see what it has to offer. The JS name has always been hard to beat. Gene
