In preparation for a meeting of furharvesters in Emporia, Kansas, I've had the entire crew at the newly refurbished and sprawling Predatr Custom Call production complex hard at work gestating these little beauties. I've got eleven of them, ten of which are black walnut. (Where that red bastard come from, I don't know. I'm the mailman, and we get our milk at the store, so.... [Confused]

I don't plan on getting them all adopted out to loving families at that meeting and will undoubtedly have several of them available come Sunday night. Four of them are long-range jackrabbit, four are long-range cottontail, and three are double reed cottontails for something different. The price on them is $23 a piece, postage paid. For an extra $2, I'll even laser engrave your name or your web handle on the side just beneath the PREDATR logo. if you show up on my doorstep. Or, at that meeting in Emporia, I'll let you have your choice for a $20 bill. Don't let these little ones go homeless for long. Do it for the children!!!

Gave up EMS. Couldn't stand one of the gals they've got working there so I bowed out. Besides, 14 years and 3500 emergency calls was enough for me.

First and foremost, husband and daddy. Letter carrier gets me my retirement. Taxidermist sets me up for something I enjoy doing when I get there and pays for vacation, er, business trips in the meantime. Callmaker and writer just happened along during the times I was bored. When it gets burdensome is those days when I hit on most of them somewhere along the road. The other day, after doing my route, I came home, went to my dad's ten miles away and got calls engraved, came home and packaged them, re-salted bobcat and coyote capes, packed and labeled three cases of deer capes to go to the tannery, got my bookwork caught up, then did the final editing on the Q story before sending it off to Paul. Kissed my daughter good night, tucked her into bed and watched the second half of a DVD with the better half who has adjusted to my running all over the house and beyond, bless her heart. I like to keep busy.

Since you like the odd colored woods. Ever try Mountain Mahogany? It's really hard, it also dries out and cracks where you wouldn't expect it, But the colors are spectacular.

Lance, is it just me or do I notice some subtle differences in every call in this litter? Perhaps the red one is just displaying a recessive trait, and your problem is bigger than it seems? [Big Grin]

Bryan, Probably do. But, the base model is still the same. Nuttin' but aesthetics by adding the grooves for looks. good news today. This older guy - the one who owns the Weem's that I originally put my calls up against - was finally able to make it out to the field yesterday. he's ahd some heart problem that pretty much scuttled his deer season and fishing. Anyway, he'd tried his Weem's on a couple stands and drew blanks. Decided to pull the old PREDATR out and take her on her maiden voyage. Thirty seconds into that stand, a pair of coyotes came charging in and he and his buddy got one on the approach, the other under the exit sign going away. Those are the kind of stories I like to hear about.
