I had the opportunity yesterday to demonstrate my new calls, pitting them against a friend's honest to goodness Weem's Wild Call - one of the originals. Two of his hunting buddies were present and agreed to judge both calls for realism, variability, and overall sound quality. My Predatr Call had better volume, wider range, and better overall sound as judged unanimously by these guys, and every one of them appeared to be completely sober at the time.
Because I've been up to my butt cheeks in deer mounts to get done, I've only had the chance to take one call out, one time. Called a bobcat to inside ten yards. Little too close for the 25'06, so I passed on the shot. Rich Higgins has one made from tulipwood and I know that his first trip out, he did remarkably well with it. But, I haven't had the chance to speak with him to see how it's performed since then. I'll let him speak to that, if he will.
And, before you say anything, I do have pictures but haven't been able to get out of the shop long enough to get them developed so I can post them here. But, very shortly. I'm just very encouraged that a roomful of experienced callers preferred my sound over what I consider to be the standard by which all other closed-reed calls are judged.

Alright, guys, I got some pictures of my calls developed and here they are.
From L to R, maple, osageorange, walnut and red oak.
From L to R, Tulipwood, osageorange, walnut, purpleheart, maple and red oak.
I'm very happy with the quality of sound I've attained with these calls. We worked hard to develop a design that sounds good from soft to loud, low to high, and is as easy for the newcomer as it is for the grizzled old veteran.
I've got a couple dozen of these bad boys done with a few being from each type of wood. Most are with jackrabbit voices, but I do have a few with cottontail chords. Yup, Lance sent me a Tulip wood call with red highlights. It is very pretty, which really doesn't bother me too much, because I'm going to beat and chew the hell out of it anyway. If Lance doesn't want them abused he wouldn't make them sound so great. It's helped me call a lot of coyotes in a short period of time and immediately became one of my favorites. There really is more to call making than drilling a hole and poking a JC into it. I almost accused him of being really smart but then I saw how much he is selling them for. Custom calls for production call prices?

This sounds pretty good. They look great. Are the JCs fairly easy to pull out for replacement purpose.

Brad, In short, yes. The voice seat was drilled out at a couple thousandths under what I would like for a snug fit, then filed lightly to allow the voice to fit very snugly after tuning. With a minimum of force, the voice can be popped out from the "exit end" of the call. On the other hand, I've taken a couple and pounded them on a table to see what it would take for one to fall out on its own, and it takes more of a beating than what I give my calls in the field.

My calls arrived a little over a week ago. I haven’t had the chance to give them a real test on the coyotes yet. The day they arrived I went to the backyard and gave them a stanza or two. It wasn’t long before I had three ravens and a hawk buzzing the yard. Based solely on that experience I think the coyotes are going to love it. Unfortunately, it will probably be October before I get them out to an area that I know a coyote will hear them.
They seem easy to manipulate and appear to handle a large volume of air, however it is not required to get them going.
