At best it's still going back and forth. There's no pictures to speak of yet. Price is compareable to Foxpro but it seems we'll just have to wait for the actual release date.

It's turned into an enormous pissing match over there. There was a picture of it at one time but it has been removed.
The thread has now turned into 8 pages of useless drivel and whining.

The maker called me at home a few weeks ago. I'm quite convinced that it is completely legit. We'll be seeing them soon.

Dave, as I recall, you and Frank Haertlein belong to a rather exclusive club? He started the ball "rolling" by driving his truck over a loaned WT caller, and then you "modified" your Foxpro, in the same manor.
I'm not serious. Hey, what did you think of Trevor wrecking his truck on a goat? Did he show you my pictures? I said he could.

Yeah, it's a rather exclusive club, even though we have an open enrollment policy .
The Dillon's (Father and Son owner/operators of Foxpro) are going WAY above and beyond in getting my run over caller situation taken care of too, by the way. I should have a new one here next week.
I thought it was HORRIBLE that Trevor wiped out his rig! I hadn't got to hunt out of it yet. Haven't seen the pics yet, but Trevor did mention them.

Deleted, because I got a chance to talk to Mr. Spanker and he is a heck of a guy. Wish he lived closer so we could go whack a few coyotes.

Curt I applaud your efforts to A. Help dude get the ball rolling... no publicity is bad publicity... And B. Let dude off the hook so easily, he never did provide what I would consider real proof of anything. He showed a pic of something (probably a mold) being built... but what it was for, and how he was involved with it, were not made clear. For sure they were not proven!
I am so sorry I did not come out and say this over there (but for some reason I seem to tread on thin ice over there), I thought the thrashing you took for not believing blindly you were involved with a real thing, was uncalled for and undeserved... Folks I have met Curt personally, and I have nothing but the utmost of respect for him... he is truly a class act.
I understand the concern you have for the way it may have influenced the current marketplace, and again I think it's pretty stand-up of you to come out and admit your part in it honestly... As I have told you before "my loyalty goes with my stomach" and I haven't forgotten the fact that you fed me for a whole weekend (and well I might add). So if ever asked I will say loudly "Curt is one hella dude, and I got his back!"
And as for the Loudmouth, I say "hurry up and wait"... we'll see if anything ever comes from it.
Many times climbing gear was supposed to hit the market soon... once a product made by one of the most famous climbers in the world, which was far superior to anything we had like it, actually got to the stage of being prototyped and pre-production units made, advertised worldwide in a major magazine, a huge website set up... and no product ever made it to market... This could happen to our friend Spanker, I hope it does not, but it could...
My original thought when I read the Feb ___ release date was "wow, nice of 'em to make guys waste a whole fur season waiting for one". For him to get pissy about all the free prees he got and to make Curt out as the bad guy was petty, and I lost most of the respect I had for him then. How can money be more important than community? Sheesh!

Pretty much invariably.

Its funny how fickle people are. When Curt announced that he would no longer be a moderater over at PM the floodgates opened with praise and compliments. Then he questions one guy about being "real" and the same group starts beating him up for it. One day your a hero the next day your a zero. And for what it's worth I think Curt was totally in the right, all he did was ask, "Is this thing for real?" Apparently it is and Curt even said so, what else can you ask for?

Kreust: I am sorry to see your loss of respect. Was it all the time I wasted trying to answer questions, the fact I displayed mold pictures or the fact that I stood my ground when attacked. I guess I tryed to appease to many. The difference is, I like to learn and speak the facts. I don't like it when some one runs their mouth with little info to back it up.I never ran Curt down. I replyied the best way I new how. He seems to be satisifyied with that. As you know, I had no intentions of starting a Q&A discussion. As far as the free press,I feel it done more harm as good. I didn't ask to be put in that position. Their has never been one question that I didn't answer and never a request that I denied. Hell I even told what sound chip I was using. No mater how much I give and tell the same guys seem to try and throw a monkey wrench into it. Why don't you wait and see instead of surrounding my caller with negativity. Is that to much to ask? I bet those mountain climing companies who clamed a new product released the info themselves. I would have NEVER released info on our caller, this have been mentioned a doesn't of times. It's better to have and lost than to have never had at all. People have to earn my respect! You certainly haven't earned mien. I also retract my offer to help you in any way when it comes to predator hunting. I wouldn't help a guy that talked so negative about me or my caller! If anyone has questions and would like them answered, you can email me Loudmouth calls@aol.com [ February 07, 2003, 06:17 AM: Message edited by: Predator Spanker ]

Spanky,
Oh bummer... I say I haven't had anything proven to me, and you jerk back your offer of assistance... How mature?
What help do you think you could have actually given me? Were you gonna give me a free e-caller? Were you gonna fly out here and go huntin' with me, or fly me out there to hunt with you? Now I can't read what advise you give someone else? OK. The recall of your offer is no more real to me than the offer was, or your e-caller is for that matter.
You haven't even shown you have the ability to help me at all... you claim to be a hunter, but what proof do I have of that? None... You claim to have killed predators, but what proof do I have of that? None... You clain to be making a mold, but what proof do I have of that? A photo or two of a mold for something, being made somewhere, for someone... But does that prove it's an e-caller and it's being made for you? Not to me... When I worked in a jobshop I coulda taken a picture of anything that was on my mill, and claimed it to be whatever I liked, wouldn't mean I was producin' 747s. And that your product is 100% made in America, what proof do I have of that? Again, none... Nothing is made in one country anymore... No Korean castings in the chip bodies? Are you sure? No materials from anywhere outside the US? I doubt it...
You have proved nothing to me, have you?...
And in the proccess (which has been since rectified, mostly due to Curts graciousness, in my opinion) MY friend got trampled over and made to feel really bad about it... No good deed goes unpunished eh, Curt?
If you didn't want to waste time answering questions you didn't have to... to come at us all resentful now, is petty... Did it not get you orders for your product? Hasn't it made your position, or gamble, seem more worthy to have the support for it Curt helped to create? Has it made you be able to sleep better at night? I know if I were in your shoes, I would have been very encouraged by all of it, that's gotta be worth somethin'...
And if your behavior here is worthy of respect I am missing it?!?
Am I any less respectable for standing my ground, and lookin' out for my friend?
And as far as Long Cams go, I don't know who leaked the information, Mr. Long or someone else... but he swore all over the climbing BBs he was gonna have 'em out in the spring... sound familiar? Just his ads in two worldwide magazines cost him more than your whole project so far... They eventually came out two years later fron a totally unrelated company... Which has now folded due to product recalls and liability issues stemming from the failure of the questionable units. Not every business venture is a sure thing. Yours is more sure because of Curt.
For that he did not deserve to be treated the way he was by you, or the other members over there at PM... regardless if you guys are pals now or not.
For the lack of appreciation you displayed, the way you, at first, let Curt take all the heat, and for the way you came, and come, off like you've been the victim, I have lost most of my repect for you... for the way you've lashed out at me, and recinded your empty offer of help, I have lost the rest of it...
Nothing ventured nothing gained.

It's hard to respond to such an asinine post as that. As far as what I could do to help make a person a better caller, let me tell what I can and have done. I have taken hunters even in my area aloung on hunts. I show them how to work the call wind and terrain. I show them both animals and how to close the deal. When you have a passion for whatever you do, you generally get proficent at it. I bet you could show a thing or two about rock climbing. I don't go around braging or posting pictures of animals that I have harvested. All this does if give the impression of being a bragger or BS-er. Kinda like the big guy with the big mouth and the little quite guy. The big guy usually has something to hide, like his ability to be as tough as he thinks. The little guy just stays quite until such time he needs to prove himself. You see Krusty, I am the little guy who keeps quite until pushed. Then I hand the big guy his ass. Done it many a time, hence the name spanker. Maybe some day I can talk to you, I will explain. I also speak when I know of what I speak. Curt admits he basicly verbally attacked me and my sincerity. He found the truth and realized the errior of his ways and corrected it. I talked both by email and on the phone for at least an hour. Like I said to him, things happen, no hard fealings. When I offered to help you in any way, I ment it. When you ran your mouth saying you lost respect for me, it bothers me. Evidently words are something you don't take seriously, I do. And after offering help to you in any way and you saying what you did, well how would you feel. Curt unintently made a mistake, realized it and was man enough to both retract what he said and made right by me. I don't think you are a bad guy, just like I said about curt, I ditten't think he was a bad guy, just misinformed. Tell you something krusty, respect means everything to me. To some people it's just another word, to me it's a way of life, like hunting and trapping. You don't know me. You don't know what I have accomplished and have done for MANY others. Don't judge me until such time you have your facts straight. To base total respect for or against someone you don't even know is utter nonsense. I suggest you reevaulate your values and you own self respect.

This is truly the last I will say on the subject.
Jeff (Krusty), I do appreciate you sticking up for me and all. Really. I have to say though after speaking with Spanker it was apparent to me he knows a great deal about trapping and calling. And I do truly believe his call will be a reality.
Although I do post pics of my hunts, I usually post a long-winded story with it in hopes of offering some tips to the new callers. No bragging intended. I really enjoy seeing pics of other peoples hunts. I like seeing the country they hunt and the equipment they use, more than the coyote. A dead coyote is a dead coyote of course but with everything else added in it makes a darn interesting post I think. One particular individual that I really look forward to reading about his hunts is Silverfox. A lot can be learned from posts like his. Real world experience is invaluable.
Having said that I'll add don't believe everything you see on the web. There are a couple fellas that would make better fiction writers than anything else out there. You can stick anything you want in a pic to promote a product and make it look like it does things it does not. I would rather see no pic at all than ones of questionable veracity as I'm sure everyone would.
Anyway, nuff hot air for today. Let's drop it. Pretty please... ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) [ February 14, 2003, 12:06 PM: Message edited by: Curt2u ]

Stretch/Mr. Cobb,
I think that should read "you believe my posts have no integrity..."
You have no more proof of this then... well I promised Curt...
Per Websters...
in·teg·ri·ty
1 : firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : INCORRUPTIBILITY 2 : an unimpaired condition : SOUNDNESS 3 : the quality or state of being complete or undivided : COMPLETENESS synonym see HONESTY
I believe I do have integrity... and that's all that matters to me. I firmly hold to the ethics I run my life by, even if they may not match yours. And if I don't speak honestly I don't know what?
Moderator, PLEASE do not remove this blatant and unprovoked attack on my character... Mr.Cobb should live with what he has said here. Just as I have, and Spanky and Curt should have too.
Deleting something after the fact doesn't mean it was never said! It is only hiding from the truth(IMHO).
Jeff
P.S. Mr. Cobb, your attempt to "run me off" at PM didn't work and it ain't gonna work here either... I am a bigger man than that, and I'd like very much to just bury the hatchet with you, here or anywhere else.

I haven't banned anybody in well over a year. However, I strongly discourage personal attacks by anyone.
If I felt differently, we would, for sure miss out on all the entertaining posts in the Predator Hunting Forum.
