Ok, I am gonna have to get a lot better at taking pictures of calls. [Big Grin]

Here's two of the first batch of calls;

 -

This first one is Pacific Big Leaf Maple. It's got a high end as good as any call I've ever used... and if Andy doesn't surface soon, I'm keepin' it! [Razz]

 -

And the second is a piece of spalted Sugar Maple. The body is thin, and the bell tube is fairly large and wide open, making it loud and proud. [Big Grin]

I've got another dozen or so calls in the works, but the weather has been way too hot for call making.

Don't know what's with Andy? He wrote me a while back and asked if it was okay to paint his truck with the Huntmaster's coyote, and of course I said yes. Have not heard if he did or saw a photo?

Good looking calls, Krusty. El Bee

I sent him an email that the Krusty One was trying to contact him but haven't heard back from him.

Mayhap the Black Helicopters got him???

Looking good, Krusty one. If they sound half as good as they look, you have winners.

Sorry for the delay in replying, the internet has been a bit wonky since we got whooped by that last storm.... now I know what it's like to live in Lance's neighborhood. [Eek!]

I'm working on finding an engraver, in the Richmond area, so upcoming calls can have the Krusty Kriers logo....

Smithers,

I can't put a price on the first call, held for Andy, yet... as I said I really think I might keep it if Andy doesn't get it, because I never have kept a good one for myself. *And, because, like your call, this one was made from a block of wood I found clearing out my Grandma's shop. [Wink]

The second call, is as fine as any I've ever made, and I'd like to get $80.00 for it. [Smile]

LB & Koko,

Thanks guys, I really do want Andy to get this call, and I appreciate your help.

Al,

I believe a call is all about the way it sounds, but I also believe that form follows function.

The fact that I keep fixing things I see as "wrong with" a call until I no longer can find any mistakes, makes them aesthetically pleasing... in the same way a very well made gunstock is beautiful.

Yeah, that's always the big if, isn't it. [Wink]

I'd certainly like one with the Krusty logo.

The one I have is always with me. I love the sound and the tone board shape is the best in the business, IMO.

Im still alive. Hey Krusty, those are good looking calls. I still like yours the best for certain things.

Hope you guys are doing good. Actually got to do some hunting last year. Docs got me fixed pretty good. Killed a few coyotes. Caught a few coons. Other than that, been workin two jobs and trying to catch up from 8 months of no work last year. Gettin there but still got a ways to go. Cost me all I had saved up and much more.

Take care fellas. Ill try to check in more often.

I guess I wasn't totally clear on price, the reason I couldn't set a price on Andy's call, is because I am gonna offer it to Andy at the same price he paid for his original call (*and would have charged more, for anyone else).

Andy,

Good to hear you're well. [Smile]

E-mail me and we'll iron out the details.

Leonard,

Nothin' makes him special... I just don't think it'd be right to jack up the price of a replacement.

Hey, you know, I especially like my elephant nose Krusty call. It's a dandy. Thank you!

Leonard,

No, thank you, I appreciate the compliment.

And, we'll spare Andy any short bus jokes. [Big Grin]

There's a couple more of those triangular mesquitewood (elephant nose) calls in the works, so keep your eyes peeled folks. [Wink]

P.S. I'm ordering a new tool head for my grinder, so I'll be able to work on longer call bodies again, making models like the Leonard's Special (*a Krustyfied version of a Dan Thompson Red Desert Howler) a possibility.

Krusty, thats the best call you have made for me yet. Great tone and wide range of use. Rabbit, bird, barks, howls, ki yis, no problem. I love it. New shirtpocket call for me!

Krusty,
I still have that dimpled double reed call you made me way back when Moses was a kid. That thing sounds more like a jackrabbit than a jackrabbit does. You still make those?

Andy,

I'm so glad to hear that you like the call, I been wonderin. [Smile]

It's definitely one of those calls I was sad to see go, I'd gladly have kept it.

Rich,

I'm glad to hear you still have your call, as well.

Your call was made fairly early in my call making, when I was still developing not just my style but my methods. And I tried as best I could to follow the tutorial you wrote, in wood, when I made your call.

So, to answer your question "No" I don't and never really did make many like yours.

But on the other hand, I still use the same double-stacked reed system and air channel, so the calls I currently make still have that "more like a jackrabbit than a jackrabbit" sound. [Wink]

Thanks,

Krusty

Hey guys, you really do need one of those double stack reeded calls from Krusty. They are great!

The maple call is still available, and I'm willing to make a reduction in the price (if that makes a difference). [Smile]

I've also got a gorgeous English walnut call, with an amazing voice, that needs a home (*it does the best canine distress sounds of any call I've ever made).

I'm picking up a scanner this weekend, if the weather will cooperate, so as in the past, I'll just go back to using that to picture the calls I've made. [Wink]

DiYi,

Chances are very good.

Do you want one of the calls I have on hand (the maple call pictured above, or the English walnut), or would you rather have it made to order?

How? We agree on a price, and I send a call... it's that simple. [Smile]
