Price point? I've always wanted a real one.

You sure? This has the funny looking fore end, and no forward assist. Real men don't need that shit. But, honestly, I never had a round that didn't chamber.
Good hunting. El Bee

Am I sure? I dunno, maybe. You're right, it has no practical value to me other than the obvious nostalgic. Might come in handy for fending off those pesky zombies if they come.

Those older ones, with the triangular handguard and no forward assist are known as "Retro", some guys love them for what Jim mentioned. I have a buddy who has a pristine one that he put a walnut stock set on, even the triangular front handguard is walnut....pretty sharp?

I've seen a few with the wood furniture they are nice looking , but by the end of the day you need a gun carrier to come along they weigh a ton.

No accounting for taste? I saw a photo in American Hunter or Guns and Ammo, (don't remember which) of an AR with a wood stock. Damn, I thought it was ugly as hell? Laminated.
Good hunting. El Bee

The ones I've seen were not laminated actually fine wood stocks saw them at the mfgs. booth when the NRA show was in town a few years back they struck me as odd at first but then grew on me a little as checked them out. these were very high end and pricey. the kind of thing you might keep as a curiosity.
