Went to see it yesterday ............ Was not impressed.
Acting was good.
Sets & scenery, very good.
Screenplay was terrible ...... shifting back & forth with flashbacks.
Dialog was hard to understand. (Admittedly my hearing is not great.)
Several scenes with extremely low pitch sound at high volume including a thunderstorm that actually hurt my ears.
The archery in the movie was cringeworthy. Poor to no form.
The whole Helen of Troy thing had Woke written all over it. Confusing at best. Not to sound racist but I'm pretty sure that the Greek Queen Helen was not black. I could be wrong on that, but I doubt it.
It did somewhat, sorta follow The Odyssey by Homer but once Hollywood gets ahold of something .........
So, my suggestion would be to save your money, wait until it comes out on Cable and then do something else while it's on.

Thus endth this morning's rant, down here in Huntmaster's basement.

Not sure on which movie that is, thought years ago I saw one with same name or something. The one I saw i think was meant for those strung out on PCP.

"River runs through it" and "Legends of fall" both pretty good movies and can't forget "Ghosts of the darkness" African based movie..

The Odyssey just came out yesterday.

A couple more that are worth watching if you can find them are 'The Man From Snowy River' and 'The Windwalker'.

The Ghost and the Darkness was a fairly accurate version of the book about two lions that held Britain at bay while building a railroad in Africa.
Of course Hollywood used artistic license to twist things up a bit but overall it pretty much followed the book. I'd like to have some of Corbetts books on maneaters in India made into a movie.Maybe?

If they did, the Woke Left would probably protest that tigers have rights and it was wrong to murder them.
An accurate movie about my personal hero, Sasha Siemel would be awesome but impossible to film, no one would believe it if it was filmed and lastly, there's no one that is bad-assed enough to play that part. [Eek!]

I just looked this guy up ,Sasha Siemel , and what a tale he is. Talk about a predator hunter. I had a hound many years ago and when I got out of hounds it got shipped off to Brazil to hunt Jaguars. And yes it was expensive but I got a pretty penny for that dog. But hunting them down with spear!!! Very ballsy and had to be quite the rush

when I was still breeding I had guys from deep south, Hawaii, New york and Sweden asking for one of my pups. The money was there but to be honest not worth the hassle so I just kept selling in Midwest, five states to be exact. sold by word of mouth and sold on my word they was good dogs.

I had two real good pups go to green bay Wisc. to run Bear. I told guy they was bred for running coyotes but he wanted them anyway. They treed 50 times in first season and ran one till it wouldn't run anymore and gunners finally caught up. They had a 16 year old girl on one hunt she couldn't keep up so the made a seat on a pack frame and packed her in to kill her first bear. that's dedacation for clients.

Walt, if you can find one of Sasha Siemel's books, he wrote a couple, on eBay or wherever, it's a good read. Even used, they can be a bit spendy.
My panties would get sticky just seeing a 300 pound Jaguar in the wild. Going after one by provoking it to leap out of a tree onto a spear would cause said panties to go from sticky to stinky.

Hugh Glass,(the real one / not the Hollywood version), is another bad-ass worthy of study and admiration.

Bass Reeves should have some places / things named after him, too.

Ok ............. I take it all back.
Yes, the movie The Odessey was terrible but the You/Tube Memes about it are an absolute riot to watch.
The latest one with Samuel Jackson in drag as Helen of Troy brought tears of laughter.
When I saw the movie I didn't even realize that the dickless wonder who's balls have yet to drop was supposed to be Achilles but the Memes are awesome.
