Make movies that male men would pay money to see! Ditch the Gay shit! etc.

First of all, what Marvel did to the Sagas of the Nordic Gods made me wanna puke !!!! Those tales, handed down thru generations, were all classic but Marvel had to 'improve' them.

Now, all movie executives should be locked in a room and forced to watch Casablanca until they actually understand it.
Starting with a good plot.
Add actors that can act without going to the gutter and dropping F-Bombs constantly.
Use special effects sparingly for effect, not shock value.
And quit trying to please everybody ..... You end up pleasing no one.

I heard that the actors waited every day for their script, otherwise didn’t know the direction of the plot, in Casablanca. In other words, it was sort of “seat of the pants” writing. The fact that they somehow stumbled into a timeless story is remarkable. Yes, I’m a fan, I’ve watched that movie a number of times. My significant other couldn’t stand to watch; not in color! Of course, she wouldn’t watch THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW either. Apparently, she couldn’t grasp “Camp”? I mean, refused to sit there and watch it! Personally, I loved it. Go figure? So, there you go; ridged attitude, loved ACTION movies, like Smoky and the Bandit, mindless crashes and thrill stunts. I mean, she was a nice lady, but she had these barriers; IDK maybe old school?

But, by the way, another type I enjoy is ancient Japanese Samuri movies with subtitles. Don’t ask me why? They pop up on Turner Classic Movies, occasionally. I haven’t watched one that I didn’t enjoy.

I like classic westerns, The Searchers or Shane, I’ve watched many times. I have even developed an interest in Spaghetti westerns, especially Clint Eastwood. They are “campy” as hell, but in some respects, the authenticity is better than classic American westerns

In my opinion, movies have gotten worse. In the last 25 years, have we seen a single movie in the class of The Godfather? or sequel? Giant? Patton? Lawrence of Arabia? From here to Eternity? Out of Africa? Pulp Fiction? The Treasure of the Sierra Madre? The Wild Bunch? 2001: a Space Odysseey? Lost Horizon? Apocalypse Now?

Just my opinion. I did hear that the movie industry today is geared towards 12 year old males? IDK? Okay, Top Gun Maverick was very good, a notable exception.

What do you think?

I never heard of dark Shadows? I “might” have heard of Yellowstone spinoffs? I’ve seen a few titled with a date like 1920 and 1880 something? Those aren’t correct, just examples. The only access I have is Paramount, presently.
