Bergdahl deserves the punishment that members of his platoon suggested; locked in a room with them to punish as they see fit.

Lt Col Ralph Peters explains:

Agreed. Hanging or a firing squad would be too good for a POS like bergdahl. I will not capitalize the name as he deserves zero respect.

I don't understand how he walks away.
I thought that desertion in time of war was a capitol offense ????
Hopefully, the Veteran(s) who beats this piece of sub-human garbage to death will receive an equally lenient sentence.

That's something worth mentioning. As in the case of OJ, he does need a bodyguard to keep somebody from cleaning his clock. But this poor schmuck, reduced to private and probably with a hard time finding a decent job, he needs to be very careful because there will be a lot of Vets that will take what he did, personally. Myself, I'd probably just mouth off at him but others (no doubt) would want to jack his sorry ass up!

No prison? I never expected that? That Colonel judge must be a closet Liberal? Well, as somebody said on the news, generally, in a review, they can reduce a sentence but not increase it. However, as somebody else said, the final ok is by a 4 star general who might take issue with the court findings. He might, if we all write him with complaints. Locked in a friggin' cage was not enough by a damned sight!

However, he didn't come close to serving "with honor and distinction" but I'd do his momma, thank you very much! His limp dicked Taliban father would not take it lying down, and I bet he would indignantly call 911?

Anyway, open season on deserters , fuck 'em up, don't shoot 'em.

Good hunting. El Bee

I agree with you all...I would suspect Mr. Bergdahl will not make it to old age...

The other ultimate slap in the face is that now he may be able to claim all of the back pay he didn't receive while he was captured...could be a couple hundred thousand!

That would be justified. Usually, a courts martial that renders a reduction in rank also includes a forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and I'm pretty sure that includes all back pay while he was AWOL. Just the idea, the concept of paying the asshole during his five year desertion, is something only a fucking Liberal would think of! Normal people think it's outrageous!
