This fall the election may very well backfire on us. The Democrats are, or were, on the ropes. If politicians werent so arrogant and hard headed, we could take over, the Republican partyt that is. However, whoever the Tea Party is backing has been winning. Instead of shaking hands and joining support, too many losers are running as Independents.

Doesnt anyone remember Ross Perot? Were gonna fuck around and give the house and senate right back to the rats. This is the dumbest thing I have seen in a while.

Andy,
Yep, 'ol Ross upset the apple cart and allowed BJ Bill to occupy the White House the first time--that was ALL on him.

He also ran in '96 and may have taken votes away from Bob Dole that year as well. I say may have as those running Dole's campaign were the sorriest set of sons-a-bitches as I have ever seen. If they had let Bob be Bob, I am pretty sure he would have won. I would also like to think he would have handled the last part of the century different, and maybe we would not have had to go through 9/11.

Unfortunately, if you are a politician, that is usually all you know how to do. I think the running as an independent thing is a lame attempt to keep their cushy jobs and not have to actually work like we all do.

It's all about money and power, I firmly believe they stopped representing us years ago.

I hope you are not against the tea party movement. It is a non partisan group that simply whats less watse, less taxes. smaller government. This is what they stand for plain and simple. There are too many RINOs out there and we need to get them out of the way.

I agree, tea party all the way! Voting for McCain was no different than voting for a liberal, we lose either way, if you are truly a conservative you should be supporting those who seem radical in cutting government power & spending. You guys can bitch about Perot & his big ears but lets be honest, if we would have elected him we would all be enjoying a hell of a lot better economy right now. So maybe what we should be saying is "all you conservatives need to pull your heads out & vote for someone who represents your views instead of whatever fraud pins himself with the Republican name tag"

I'm tired of the "lesser of two evils" mentality, if you step in a big pile of shit or you step in a small pile of shit....you're still in the shit either way.

No, I am not against the TEA party, however, it would be great if they could work together. Case in point, the primary for the Repulican seat for the Senate in Delaware.

The GOP has come out and said the woman that won couldn't win an election for dog catcher--if that is so, what does that say for the guy she beat??? Now, she is on her own--no Republican money for her--THAT shit has got to stop or we will end up with another 6 years of what we have now.

As far as old Ross goes--he had good ideas, but there was never a chance he was going to win, and he knew it.

I think he wanted to stroke his own ego, but that is my opinion. He could have accomplished more by joining forces with Bush 41's campaign and worked together to defeat BJ Bill--but that is history.

I am against a 3 party system--the TEA party and the Republicans must reach an agreement that will work, or we will have the same old shit for a long while.

The Democrats are masters of the phony issue. Every Republican President is stupid, then we find out that Bush had a higher grade point average than that Viet Nam hero, John Kerry....for instance.

They have been able to paint the Tea Party as suspicious radicals and the drive by media parrots their talking points.

That's the problem. The general public isn't paying attention to anything but the 30 second sound bites they see on the boob tube.

I just don't see how the Republicans and the Tea Party can join forces without the Demorats spinning it into something the masses will view as unfavorable?

Good hunting. LB

Hell no Im not against the Tea Party Movement. Im the biggest duck in the pond when it comes to less tax, less spending, smaller government and freedom.

It just pisses me off that since these candidates are winning, the other republicans cant accept defeat and throw their support behind the winner and it scares me that that is going to keep the libs in control.

If nothing else, this is showing who the RINOs really are.

LB,
The TEA Party and Republicans joining forces is a pipe dream as far as I am concerned.

Unfortunately, the Republican Old Guard doesn't want to relinquish the power to what is becoming inevitable--the public is getting tired of the same old shit, even from the 'conservatives'. Andy is right, this is really showing how much the RINO's care about the country vs. protecting their own power base. The Delaware situation is a prime example--'our' candidate didn't win, so you are on your own!

Something has got to happen, though, or this country will slip even deeper into whatever muck and mire we are immersed in right now.

A three party system is a loser for anybody but Democrats. We need to come up with SOMETHING that clicks with the voters or we may as well just lay back and enjoy the fucking the socialists/democrats will render upon us.

We can't let this disatisfaction with the Obama administration slip through our fingers. I'm telling ya, a RINO is far better than any Democrat that ever lived. Splitting our vote is suicide.

Exactly!!!

Sure, there are problems in the Republican party and the old guard but nothing that is more of a problem than the point being made above!

We can not have a conservative minded third part... it just doesn't work. It will only work toward helping the Dem's win. [Eek!]

When a conservative Republican party does come back, there won't be a need for the third party.

This BS that the Republican party is pulling with Odonnel is way out of line. Why do they think "We the people" have primary elections? So we can decide who is going to run for our party and we can vote for.

I respectfully disagree. We need to change Washington politics. Since Reagan the republican party decided to move to the middle and become more moderate to try to get some of the democratic votes. That just gave us a big stinkin' pile of terrible representation in the republican party. Fuck the little babies that sit and whine that they lost to a tea party candidate. This election will be decided by educated voters more so than any in the past 26 years. Either republicans wake up and embrace conservatism or they will find themselves on the losing end of all of the primaries. I could care less if republican losers throw their support behind a tea party candidate, I believe the voters will. The democrats shit the bed once they gained power and the only thing keeping us from cleaning house will be a corrupt election system, which me being somewhat of a conspiracy theorist, is likely with the liberal party members.

You got that right! They (all Democrats) are evil and dishonest and believe the end justifies the means. Did I mention; no conscience, either?

Good hunting. LB

I gotta disagree TL. I wish that were the case. However, even though I love those tea party candidates whuppin ass, if they dont have the base behind them, the republican base, they will lose and dems win. Its too close to split three ways and beat those evil fucks.

Im not saying it will always be that way, but right now, if we dont stand together, we will hang seperatly.

Guys,
Just heard an awesome quote from Jim Demint who was on the Today show this morning.

He acknowledged that the old line Republicans need to wake up and embrace the TEA party values and candidates. He said that is obviously what the people want, so the party needs to change its thinking.

Maybe there IS hope after all!

Andy, most of the tea party candidates I have seen are running as republicans, not independants. I read your first post to mean something different than what you were trying to say.
