I've been waiting a long time for the anti-gunners to drive gun control to the supreme court. The 2nd Amendment is clear and if the high court has the courage, it has the opportunity to shutdown the anti-gun radicals with their ruling (expected sometime in June). Here's a good article that describes the early positions of the justices.

As a gun owner, I don't need any justices, senators, governors, state reps, nor anyone to address,or qualify my right to posess a firearm. It's all ready articulated in the 2nd amendment, which by the way, doesn't "give" any right, but merely acknowledges such "god given". Any law that man writes to prohibit all ready lawful carry of arms, is an "infringement", to be disregarded my any self respecting gun owner!
It's pretty easy language to grasp,"The right to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed"
I take that very literal,as I m sure most of you do.

the constitution and the bill of rights does not give us any rights only acknowledeges that God did and limits the Government from infringing those rights. To me its black and white no grey areas.

Yep, I'm with you. Back in my University days, US Constitution Class, we were given an assignment to determine which of the amendments were the most important...I wrote on the 2nd amendment. We have nothing resembling freedom without the ability to protect ourselves from tyrannical goverments and bad folks. I carry the opinon that since it is so clear, the supreme court can only reinforce it. Thus shutting down the continuous challenge and whine from the "anti's".

IMO, if this decision is made as we feel it should be "shall not be infringed", the anti- second Amendment conspirators still won't sit idle. I'm a believer in the philosophy of opposition in all things. Here's a quote from Michael Otterson to help explain it: "I am not complaining," my father wrote to my mother from war-ravaged Europe during the closing days of World War 2, when he finally reached the safety of American lines after three years as a POW. "I would not appreciate comfort if there were no hardship. We cannot appreciate joy without sorrow, health if we have never felt pain, or peace until after war. All things must have their opposites and we can learn from both." To me it's a matter of putting your money where your mouth is. Support your groups that support your rights. If we neglect this responsibility, our rights are put in jeopardy. Benjamin Franklin said, "We must hang together, gentlemen ... else, we shall most assuredly hang separately."
The dictionary defines conspiracy as "an unlawful plot" "a conspiring group". IMO, there is a conspiracy to destroy our Second Amendment freedoms.

Really? I think they are quite open and proud of what they do. It's hard to imagine being that stupid and that misguided?

The part that just drives me nuts is they have their freedom, but want to control MINE!

It may take a thousand cuts, but they are dedicated, if nothing else.

Eternal Vigilance, Fred!

Right on, Leonard. Eternal vigilance! I like tying the word conspiracy to the anti-freedom crowd. (no tin foil hat needed when it's in our face)

WTF? I thought you were Clint, this morning? make up your mind!

All I know is; I love the freedom of doing my housework wearing nothing but my penis sheath that I picked up while on vacation last year. I have to be a lot more careful about answering the door, really freaks people out!

Good hunting. LB

PS, my old Cronk Magnum used to pinch real bad.
