Yeah, all the freakin solutions! First of all, when they break in and steal my Glock (which I don't own, but just for instance) and use it to gun down another "brother" down in south central, and they pick up the empties with the micro stamp, an hour later, they will come knocking on my door. After I spend three hours explaining that I REPORTED THE THEFT SIX MONTHS AGO, they spend the rest of the night verifying my information, and are back to square one, only the crime they thought they solved last night, the trail is colder than Hillary's smile. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Why is it that my $600 gun ***** on the street for $100, and is now considered a Saturday Night Special by Barbara Boxer; well known "Junk Gun" expert.

And another thing. A firing pin is about the easiest part to alter (or replace) a micro stamped I.D.

But....I have them all beat. Use a revolver and don't stop to dump the empties next to the body, which isn't actually fair to our hard working L.E. officers and detectives, else'twise, how are they ever going to solve a crime? This is why informants are such a critical (and reliable) element.

Good hunting. LB

I worry about ammunition ID legislation about as much as I do being abducted by space aliens.

Yeah, sure. A thousand cuts, Amigo.

Take the lead ban in Kalifornia. One step at a time, these cocksuckers are nothing if not patient. They never miss an opportunity, while Vic is more concerned about space invaders.

Good hunting. LB

Which reminds me, you better get out there and kill some animals before that sandbagging little faggot beats ya!

Thanks, Skoal. I contacted my legislators. Like Benjamin Franklin said - a Republic, if you can keep it.

It's my understanding Leondard, that the bullets will be stamped, not the casing from being fired. In other words, when you buy ammo., the ammo. box will have a code of some sort so that all the bullets in that box have the same stamp/code on them and the buyers name will be kept on record as to buying such and such box with such and such code on the bullets.. SO then when the bullet is recovered at the crime scene, it will have the stamp on it and the box it came from will be registered in the buyers name. In other words, it wouldn't matter if casings were left at a crime scene.
Still junk science and won't probably solve even 1/2% of crimes in 10 years.
I wonder how they'll stamp each pellet in a shotgun shell. [Roll Eyes]

well, that's one brainstorm, and I have heard of it, as well. Another one is putting some microscopic marker in the powder. It's all an infringement on my Constitutional Right of privacy, as far as I'm concerned.

Good hunting. LB

A guy ought to go out and buy bullet molds in all of the favorite gangsta calibers. Just think of the value of unmarked bullets on the black market!

The state of Missouri started a program way-back-when(possibly in conjunction with the GCA of '68???) that required a person to sign a log whenever they bought bullets that could fit a handgun - including 22LR. That program was continued up in to the 1980's before it was scrapped. All of those logs, all of those man-hours, all of those poor trees sacrificed to make all of that paper were wasted. All of that waste never resulted in the arrest or conviction of a single felon. Sure was a pain in the ass for the rest of us, though.

Missouri also just recently scrapped another worthless program that made things difficult for the law abiding citizen but did nothing to deter crime. To legally buy a hand gun you had to get a permit from the county sheriff.

All of those gangsta felons lined right up to be granted those permits! You betcha!

When will people learn that jacking with the law abiding among us will do nothing to deter crime?

If this legislation were to go through, reloading by private citizens would be banned, currently owned ammunition would have to be turned in or destroyed and it goes on . . . There's a slow but semi-interesting video interview at the bottom of this post.
