That's funny, Leonard, I pretty much have come up with my plan that if they implant one of those tracking devices in me, I'll dig it out and duct tape it to me whenever I have to go shopping for groceries or fuel. When I go hunting, I'll leave it taped to my pillow. Here's my use of ***. Those guys are a bunch of a**holes. I'm learning.

He's not mainstream media, and proud of it, but Glenn Beck has been trying to alert people to this for several years. He calls it "Mexamericanada".
They've been widening our interstates up here for several years now in anticipation of this. Word is they want four lanes going each direction to accommodate the trucks. Most of our overpasses have been rebuilt already to allow for this and the shoulders have been widened to make room for the extra lanes in the name of "safety". Yeah,.... sure.

Don't worry Lance. The trucks traveling north will be bottle necked along the Tx border. Our road and bridge system is a mess. Heck, the toll booths alone will slow them down. Like Criner said as we passed through a toll booth on the way to Az,"you mean you have to PAY to drive on these roads?" Maintain, Geordie

How long will FEMA let you stay there, 20? Depending on who wins in November, it could be indefinate? We will all chip in, of course, but they won't get much out of me and my fixed income, but Fred will really get socked.
Good hunting. LB

Yeah, they came by and dropped off some supplies...they really need to get their story straight- the County says the whole thing is my fault and the feds are saying it was a "disaster" but deny any responsibility. That doesn't make sense. Anyway, in the box they left were some MREs. That's what they call C-rations now except their not in a can. The can is where you go right after you eat them. Talk about an exit strategy... There was also a hand cranked AM radio but it only picks up the Mexican stations. I don't speak Mexican. Also a kit that lets you make your own candles but you have to render the animal fat yourself. It's made in China. My wife has been so upset by the whole thing that she's been staying over at her boyfriends house (he's in Iraq). Send what you can to General Delivery, Rodeo, New Mexico.

I probably need to ban that word, 20? In the meantime, don't be such a blabbermouth!
I will tell you one thing. C rations, MRE's whatever you want to call them. They are usually not half bad. I don't mind eating them, at all. In fact, I survived on them for months at a time, back in the day.
Good hunting. LB

Yeah, give me enough Red Devil and I can live on C-Rats. But MREs, I think those were formulated for the McDonalds generation. [ March 07, 2008, 10:01 AM: Message edited by: 20gauge ]

I can tell you one thing. The locals will trade everything you don't want, for beer? Sometimes, they go nuts for the accessory packets. Whatever, but there is more than you can eat, so building up a stash of favorites still allows you stuff for barter. I'm talking in country, and not getting paid regularly.
There was something I couldn't stand, might have been tuna and noodles, but almost all of the rest was decent, as far as I was concerned. Crackers and jelly, no.
Good hunting. LB

20gauge, That looks like a good list to have a six month or twelve month supply on the shelf. Looking at the next 4-8 years, who knows what's going to happen. (Nancy Pelosi, as Speaker of the House, is third in line for President.)My gosh!

Make no mistake, Pelosi has a donor list and Fred's on it!
Thought for the day. Obami beats McCain in head to head. Clinton beats McCain in head to head.
I'm selling my house and stealing a grocery cart. I want in on the gravy train. If I was black, I might even get a free trailer?
You know, there were documented cases where blacks from south central Los Angeles traveled to Houston, claimed they were displaced by Huricane Katrina and given a check for $3,000, no questions asked. 20 checked it out and can verify this. What a great country!

I knew that menu would bring back memories Leonard. Spiced beef was my fav. Of course, the Ham and Motherfuckers (lima beans) is a trade item in places where they can't read English (like North Carolina). Actually in reviewing the list it occured to me that, "back in the day" as you say, we must have been a little younger and a whole lot hungrier.
Glad to see someone bringing up Nancy Pelosi's name, although I expected to see it over in the "who would you do" thread. I have this fantasy where she is in the "reverse cowgirl" position and hitting me with her gavel. Who's ready for lunch?
