With what is going on between McCain, Obama, and Clinto, I've come to a decision who I will vote for come November. When I goto the polls, I'm asking for a write in ballot. The name of the person I'm voting for is None of the Above.
Just my 2 cents.

Years ago, I was hoping that if enough people voted "None of the above" that all the candidates would get thrown out and new people could get picked.

It's awful scary to me that out of 300 Million + people in the USA, those are the best we have to choose from.

It's scary to imagine that the most hated woman in America could wind up becoming President of the United States! Now, that's polarizing, folks!

If I live to be a hundred, I will never understand her appeal? There are a lot of fuked up people in this world.

Good hunting. LB

the choices are becoming very slim...

if you vote for none of the above, you will have nothing to complain about over the next 4 years as that voting stance, suggests you didn't care who got it, vs voting for the best of the non-value added participants.

Exactly!

I thought about exactly what you are saying. However, in IMO, a vote for any of the three will do nothing to support or gun rights, protect our borders, or slow the growth of the Federal Government. McCain is too much of a moderate. He cosponsored a bill with Joe Lieberman to stop private gun sales at gun shows. The wording they both used was '...to close a loop hole left in the brady bill...'. McCain's policies are as bad as the majority of liberals when it comes to immigration reform.

I believe voting for none of the above will help send a message to McCain that the hard core GOP doesn't like him because of his moderate stanch when he sees the votes he is losing. I can predict with almost total confidence that he will take Arizona, his and my home state, no matter what I do.

One point I do like about McCain is his stanch on the Iraq war. He fully supports it unlike the other two. Don't be suprise if he picks Joe Lieberman as his VP running mate. The two of them are pretty close.

FYI I just say this info on Predator Masters:

"Gun Owners of America Ratings For John McCain:

Norm,
I see your point, but don't honestly believe it. Someone said voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. If the Conservatives vote for McCain, I believe the party bigshots will believe that America want's to go even further to the left. That is what the voters want.

Perhaps I should start saving pictures and video's. Then in the future I can show the young people what it was like to not only touch a firearm like they see in the museums but to get out and actually hunt and shoot animals with it. But I might get arrested for having contraband or treasonous speach, or something. [Smile]

OK, I'll take off the tinfoil hat now, and quit looking for the black helicopters.

It's hard to understand logic like that. If you want to REALLY send a message, vote for Hillary, that makes as much sense. As much as I value our Second Ammendment rights, don't forget about a President's ability to appoint conservative judges. Voting for none of the above is like two votes for a liberal Democrat. Whatever, it's a free country...but not for long when you "send messages" like that!

Posted by DanS (Member # 316) on February 08, 2008, 09:56 AM:

I honestly don't know what to think, concerning this election. I am absolutely possitive that I don't care for any of the Three possible candidates remaining. I'm not convinced that Senator McCain would appoint conservative judges.

I'm sorry, If I "sent messages" I don't want to see the destruction of the USA or any loss of freedom. I surely don't want it to be my fault.

It just seems like our Gov't is handing me a $hit sandwich and telling me "here you go, enjoy".

If McCain gets the nod , and it's likely he will.
we have no choice but to hold our noses swallow hard and defeat Hilabeast. I dont think a write in win is possible , the party is so fractured between the constructionists the evangelicals and so on we cant even agree who to write in.
we better hope that Hillary wins McCain can beat her ,not likley Usamma.

The primary is a fine time for a protest vote, not the real election.

At least vote the party for the good people that are still a part of it.

If that is voting for the lessor of two evils then so be it. Unless you've really lived a sheltered life you have to be able to appreciate the logic behind that or a statement like "well, things could be worse."

Please, please, please, when the time comes get out and vote to keep Hilliary(us) or Broke-Back Osama out of office.

Make the best choice out of the provided offerings. Not doing so is as good as a vote for the greater of two evils. I want things to be as good as they can be, given the choices.

Okay, no sense in sugarcoating it; voting for "none of the above" come November is stupid!

You need a do over.

But what do we get if we Vote for McCain?

He's damn near as liberal as the two Democrats.About the ONLY issue that seperates him from them is the war on terror.

Plus with all of his Liberal B.S he tears down the Republican party in the process. He just about jumped ship afew years ago to join the Demo's anyway. The "True Conservative" my Ass.

I think I will just plan a Coyote calling trip the first week of November.lol

And as far as complaining about it.Oh, well when you only have 3 democrats to choose from,it really doesn't give you much choice.lol

Good Hunting Chad

McCain = conservitive democrat

Hilldibeast = socialist nut job

Obama = well spoken socialist nut job

Not a great choice,enjoy your sh-t sandwhch

McCain probably thinks GH Bush went too conservative when he picked Souter for the Supreme court. OK, I'm kidding.

Chad, I'm shocked! I know all about McCain's shortcomings. But to not vote for him is crazy. Imagine the NRA coming out with a recommendation that their four million members just go hunting and not vote, for President, or anything else on the ballot? It's like the condemned's last meal. I hope you do well and have a good time! Damn!@

Leonard,

I know I'm overreacting a bit,but I believe any of the 3 demo's that have a chance this year, if elected is a 4 year President because they will run the country down the toilet.I'm HOPING that the Republicans will pull there Heads out of the ASSES in the mean time and get a real honest to God Conservative back on the ticket,so I will have a voice in 2012.I just don't know if I can pull the lever for McCain, maybe once I have time to think about it I may change my mind.As far as the other two idiots running there are not enough cuss words in the English language to tell you how I feel about them.

Good Hunting Chad

At least I`ll vote the way I believe & be able to sleep at night, you guys will have to lie to yourselves about helping out the party & all that noble bullshit & to top it off I`ll be here for the next 4 years to make sure you understand what a bunch of dumbshits you were for supporting these liberal fucks in the primary elections.........suckers!!!

Bill is starting to seem like a good president in light of what we`re faced with now........Thanks to you spineless conservatives. [Razz]

Get a grip, JD. Nobody here appointed McCain as the next Supreme Ruler. He has flaws. Major flaws. Personally, I'm being realistic, I could see which way the wind was blowing, whereas, you appear to be a sore loser. Blame somebody else that gives a shit.

JD, I make lame and joking excuses all of the time about having to deal with the shortcomings of a Missouri public school system education. What is your excuse? You must have a reading comprehension problem.

No wonder that Rue Paul guy looks good to you...????

I don't think anyone is advocating voting for a second rate candidate in the primaries, just in the fall election. I think it has been said more than once. Vote your heart and mind now to make your statement. Being all noble and shit come November ain't going to cut it.

I got another news flash for you, I'm afraid that between all the "noble" sorts and the truly stupid that would vote for a Clinton or a Broke-Barak because they love them we will be set up for 8 years of this crap.

Not a good time to be getting all noble and trying to make statements, you'd better take this crap seriously. Make the most of what you've got.

All along, this topic has reminded me of the old safe driving public announcement addressing the issue of right-of-way put out by the Missouri Highway Patrol:

"Be right, but don't be dead right."

Ouch!!! Must of hit a nerve,no??

Joe, WTF???....whatever.

All I`m saying is that the people who bitch the most are the ones who readily piss themselves whenever the wind blows in a different direction, kind of the same way McRomney pissed himself on national TV the other day.

Joe, maybe if you`d have shown up for some of those classes you`d be able to keep up a little better on these threads.

Voting for someone besides one of the three stooges in the primary is no more dangerous than voting for any of the three. You guys were just suckered by the media & now your ashamed of it, as you should be, it`s OK though cause in the end we`ll all hold hands in unity & vote for mcCain as one. [Wink]

No one is arguing with the first sentence of your last paragraph, except maybe you with yourself.

You are right about one thing - I did take every Thursday off when in high school. Probably not that good an idea.

JD,You are sounding more and more like J-H everyday.LOL

The only choice I will have to make come November is "do I shoot that coyote at 100 yrds or wait til he's at 50 yards".lol

Vote for whoever you want but in the end RP has about as much chance of winning anything as Guiliani,Romney,Hunter,Gilligan,The Professor,or even Mary Ann does.As much as I wasted a vote for Romney, you also waste your vote for Les Paul.

Chad, The only thing I have in common with him politically is that neither of us will roll over & piss ourselves just because someone thinks we should fall in line & behave, beyond that we`re worlds apart, but you already knew that.

I`m really not pissed about any of this, I just thought it would be fun to poke you guys in the eye once or twice while the opportunity was available, remember though.....I poke you in the eye because I love you guys, you`re like family to me........kinda like........the retarded brothers I never had......... yea definitely. JD,

You keep suggesting that anyone that stood behind Romney was caving to media influence. Hardly. As I posted on another thread, I very much feel that the attack on September 11, and any future attacks, are designed to cripple us economically. These people realize that they cannot go toe to toe with us militarily. Instead, they'll bleed us dry, a little at a time, until we either give up and ruin our credibility with the rest of the world - one crippling blow - or spend ourselves into the very situation we're approaching now where we owe both arms, one leg, and most of the other to China for loaning us money for stupid crap like doling out $600 a person to stimulate consumer spending when THAT'S the very problem that got us where we are. But, that's another stump.

Romney was the only guy that had the business experience to deal with the long term economic ramifications while, at the same time, wasn't a career politico who knew how to smile at me while he bent me over. Of the entire field, he was really the only one that my gut told me I could trust the most. Not explicitly, but the most. I see whoever gets the win doing serious damage to this country over the ensuing four years, and Romney stepping up in '12 to save our collective butts. At that time, I'll reserve the right to be first to say "I told you so." I marked it on my '12 calendar already. Just to remind myself.

It`s all good Lance, I know that you gathered all the facts you possibly could about the candidates & chose as wisely as possible for someone who has limited time to watch for TV ads, I REALLY do understand.

Lets see......what`s the word I`m looking for?.........oh yea......"rope-a-dope" [Razz]

I was serious when I said that I wasn`t pissed about this stuff & I was only joking about you guys being retarded...a little slow, yes, but I love ya anyhow.

I just thought I would put in my 2 cents on who I supported at the primary level since I started all of these discussions. I originally supported Fred Thompson. I just wish he had started earlier. The only problem I had with Thompson is his VP running mate selection would most likely end up being the president since Thompson is a Melanoma cancer survivor. An old friend of mine and my father both died of melanoma. The aggresive forms are very treatable but they came back about six or seven years later only to finish them both off. I really think Thompson could win this thing if he could get the nomination.

After Thompson dropped out, I supported Romney because I felt he was the best left in the race. Now all we have is stinky McAmnesty who I am ashamed to say is my state's senator. I just have a real problem giving him my vote come November which is what started this thread.

BTW: I've really enjoyed all of the great discussions. Its been fun.

Here`s a thought........what if McStain is elected(& he probably will be) & come 2012 he`s screwed us all as badly as I believe he will, then what? by that time this country WILL be ready for a women or a black muslim or ANYBODY besides a Republican to be president, to be honest with you I`m not sure our short term gain is going to be worth the price of admission in the long run.......but.......I aint gonna vote for Hillary or Barrack so slap my ass & call me Sally I guess I`m gonna get screwed whether I like it or not.

Chad.....I hope Les Paul is president, at least we`d all have really good guitars. [Smile]

JD,

That was my point before,in an earlier post to this thread. That's what scares me about McCain..He'll run the Republican party into the ground With his Liberal minded B.S at the Party's expense. And I won't vote for the other two idiots either. That's why I said I'll be hunting that week.Because I really feel that any of the three will hurt this country and I don't think I want to be a party to it.I know if I don't vote I shouln't bitch, but I feel I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.FWIW

As far as Ron Paul goes HE CAN'T WIN,so I feel that a vote for him to boycott the others is about the same as me not voting at all to boycott them.
