The following is from Sen. Reid (democrat, NV).
"Knowing of your interest, I am writing you about S. 397, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. S.397 protects firearm and ammunition manufacturers and dealers from lawsuits related to the criminal acts
of others.
You will be pleased to learn that S. 397 passed the Senate by a vote of 65 to 31 on July 29, 2005. I was a strong supporter of this
legislation because it ensures the rights of responsible, law abiding individuals and protects firearms manufacturers."
I guess there is a little good in everyone.

Yeah, but damned little in his case. At least he knows what matters to his constituents; and how they are likely to vote.
