Do we need permission from anti-American organizations, to remove a threat that nobody else faces?
Will we lose friends? What friends? Being the last superpower, left standing, is tough.
Saddam or Kim may provide nukes to the rag heads; or nerve gas, courtesy of France and Germany. Do we wait for the next attack?
What is the French policy for action? Five attacks on America? Six? Never?
I'm developing an attitude. LB

I personally think we better quit worrying about what other nations think and take out our threats. We are the worlds super power and we need to remind everyone of that now and again. Set off North Koreas nukes right there on their soil and make Iraq a heaping pile of smoldering sand. After that, ask the rest of the world if anyone wants to be next. If we don't start standing up and maintaining our military might, somebody is going to make us pay for it and the terror we saw on 9/11 will seem like a small deal then. Just my .02

Leonard, the French policy for action is to wait until the U.S attacks and is victorious then jump on the Americans side and claim victory with us. As far as the Anti-American stuff goes we will always be looked at as the bully, that's just something we have learned to live with.I really don't believe people realize what this world would be like if we didn't play policeman once in a while.It would be utter choas.GOOD HUNTING Chad......

Anymore I'm almost ashamed to be an American.To see my so-called fellow Americans in the streets protesting their own freedom and security down the drain is UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE.Where did these people come from?Anti-American socialist right here in our backyard.A guy told me Bush just wanted oil for his company and Iraq was soon to be BUSH &CHENEY'S OIL PATCH. As if he were adding it to his personal portfolio,this idiot evidently doesn't realize how much our livelyhood depends on oil.Its the free flow of oil he's trying to secure not to mention the Islamic threat posed.Does anyone remember seeing the word sovereign anywhere?We need no premision from anyone to protect our way of life.We should'nt even ask.Kill'em all;Let Ala sort'em out.Death to Islam and all who follow it. The bottom line is that we have the financial power to put the screws to anybody that we want to directly or indirectly. It is funny how India had a change of heart on the issue. It seams that we bribed them with enough financial favors that they had no choice but to side with us. No one really gives a s#$t about Iraq. They are not giving us their support for one of two reasons. One being they want to strike a better trade deal with the U.S. and the other being there is a liberal uprising such as in Germany. The MAN that got elected for his passive views would have his tit in the ringer if he supported the U.S. led coalition. You can bet your ars that Saddam is wheeling and dealing with the remaining countries too. Fallow the money. It is that simple.

After we finish with Iraq and North Korea we need to get out of the United Nations.The UN is not united and does not serve our interest.

As of today, one day-post A-Day, I must applaud the Bush administration and our military leaders for the way they're presenting our efforts in Iraq. It isn't about U.S. occupation of Iraq or "for the oil". Too many short-sighted liberals fall back on that argument because they can't extend the debate any further using any other argument. That and the fact that they're cowards. For the life of me, I can't fingure out how they cannot make the connection between the war on terrorism and our efforts in Iraq.
Having said that, it IS about the oil. Like it or not, the U.S. economy is strongly dependent upon oil. Loss of free oil trade would turn our economy on end and decimate an already floundering financial system. We don't necessarily want the oil, per se, we want the free flow of oil.
As far as North Korea, c'mon! Those guys are running interference for their compadre, Hussein. Now that we've lit Baghdad up, I'll bet they reduce the rhetoric since they know now that 1) their efforts won't save Saddam, and 2) they may be next.
As far as the world's perception of us, a recent issue of Imprimus addressed how our campaign in Afghanistan served as a showcase to the world of our incredible military might and technology. Now, more than ever, the rest of the world sees our unilateral capabilities and they're very concerned about what we'll do with this technology. And this takes me back to my first comment - how we use this power will determine, in large part, how the rest of the world looks at us. If we use it to purge the world of bad people, only those with a reason to be guilty will be the ones squealing. Is anyone else thinking, "France"?
And BTW, screw the U.N.. Without the United States, they have no money to fund their world order politics, and they have a lot fewer military options for peace keeping. Without us, they're just a bunch of wannabe's trying to stumble their way around in the dark. Kofi Anna and Cherac should sit proudly today, knowing that they were instrumental in neutering the United Nations.

That's exactly what I was thinking...France.
I saw yesterday that France objects to Britain and the US administrating post-war Iraq. My imagination runs wild considering the possible alternatives.
