I just want to remind y’all that I’m now older than dirt!
I was hunting coyotes when you could not buy CAMO! There wasn’t any! Can you imagine that? Now. it’s even fashionable with the Glitterary. I do remember when I finally found a camo jacket at an Army/Navy surplus store.
Anyway, I guess I am “improving”. The main improvement is in some lack of pain while trying to breathe. I know it’s a difficult concept to understand, but it is a fact.
I am even considering taking a shower today. Should be interesting. I have been using these wipes that you rub all over. They are made of some kind of fiber and chemicals. Does a half ass job, but I do feel refreshed after uusing them.
Nothing else going on. I have learned the names of the dogs and recognize all of them. Gracw is the most friendly. Then it’s Lady. Magnolia and Little Girl are a bit shy, but I guess they will warm up.
We have rules, here. I can’t give thrm any treats. I have to sneak. But it’s amazing what they see, and admonish me. Imcan’t help it. Can you imagine, they get their dog food. Actually it’s Tillie’s dog food until it’s gone. sAnd each dog gets a Milk Bone, which they gobble up. But that’s all the treat they get. Whatever?
That’s it for today, I just might get that shower if I feel up to it?

Camo was never a problem here. Just take a white sheet and make into a poncho. WW-2 and Korean camo been around long time as well and jungle camo from Nam. war. Need to get out and shop more often.
Keep those dogs happy.

The dogs are happy here. I have been assured that they can tell that they are happy with their new digs.
They have been through a loy. Some may remember a few years ago, my son, wife and dogs were HOMELESS! Living out of a Toyota Sequoia. Son said they were far better off than most homeless simply because they had a cat, not a fucking pup tent. But, it was a total bitch.
I was sending him money via an app called CASH AP. A lot of money, never repaid, I might add. But, I paid for motel room and transmissions and what not? They struggled, A LOT.
But he got a job, and the HR woman actually loaned him $1,200 to get into a manufactured box type of housing and he paid her back. Stayed o that job for a year and while I was still sending money, that was the beginning of climbing out of the hole, and I promise they were in pretty damned DEEP! He stayed there for a year and accepted a job in another state while the wife stayed and he lived in motel rooms, driving 300 miles home to ,oma and the pack on weekends. That was another year but it still wasn’t easy. Then, that contract job ended and another move to an actual rented house with a fenced yard for the dogs. I assure the reader, that dogs are their life and they has two hat needed operations for something I never heard of. Almost $3,000 for each one. I think he still owes that vet some money.
Believe me, I helped as much as I could, had to cash a CD but, little by little they were able to drag themselves out of the gutter. And, it was a gutter, make no mistake.
So, when I got sick, I guess they had a sorta easy decision to wrap it up and come home from Illinois, where they claim that the cost of living is higher than The People’s Republik of Kalifornia.
I’m happy to have them. It was a strain with Shelley and Corey coming down from the BBay areA EVERY 3 WEEKS ALTERHATING.
So they can live here as long as they want. I appreciate the company., dogs and all. The dogs are very well behaved, I wouldn’t have believed it. But it’s true. After living in a Toyota, I guess a fenced yard with a pool is easy to take?
And, they wait on me, which is necessary. I’m a long ways from recovered. Whe will that happen? Who knows? They said 6 months and we are 2 months in. It has been very tough, I DO NOT EXAGGERATE, EVEN A LIYYLE.
But, I’m hanging in there and Trying to be positive.

Thanks for the update, LB. This sounds like a tough row to hoe, but its' encouraging that you can see a start to improvement.
Gotta love them hounds, I grew up around a bunch and though not really pets, they were good dogs, learned fast, and were loyal companions.
As I type this, I'm reminded of a hound that showed up at my childhood rural home and my brother and I adopted it. Its owner eventually showed up to reclaim his dog and that would hold for a month or so, then the dog returned to bum around with us kids. Even though his home was 10 or 15 miles away the dog always returned to us - to the point where the guy gave up and just picked his dog up from us when it was time for a hunt - the added bonus being that I often got to tag along!
I'm several years behind you, but can agree that camo was rare in the early days.
Almost nobody but rich duck hunters and Fred Bear had anything resembling camo.
I also remember when you could finally buy a woodland camo field jacket instead of the usual olive drab. Man, that was livin!
That camo availability satisfied a lot of hunters, but to me the real advance was better fabrics to complement the wool cold weather gear we had, or wished we had. There's lots of wisdom behind the old saying, "cotton kills".

COONHOUNDS RULE! 👍
Look, I am totally in with coonhounds, all kinds. They are all American dogs. No German Shepards or French Poodles or German Shoorthair, or a whole bunch of Pekinese, Doxhunds and Great Danes. They are 100% American dogs, honest dogs and deserve to be a lot more popular. Says ME!

Memory lane .......... Back in the early 70s an outfit called The Camo Clan came out with (Drumroll) ........ Camo T-Shirts !!!!
For us bowhunters with deer seasons opening in July and August this was serious stuff !!!
Not sure what ever happened to them.

I wouldn’t think that Camo TEE shirts would be difficult to acquire? I don’t own any, and I don’t know what would be the first place to look, but surely, they must be available?
So, I am making progress, measured in micro meters. For one thing, I do seem to have a marginally better appitite. Remember, there will be no breakthroughs. It’s aggonizingly slow. Wish I could sound more up beat, but it’s slow progress.
Also, my gut health is marginally better, meaning the urgent diarrhea is not so much any more. Try sprinting to the bathroom behind a WALKER! While snagging your O2 tubing on every damned obstacle imaginable! And while the tubing coils on itself in something like a green rat’s nest. It’s a little like when casting and getting the line that needs to be stripped and rewound. it gets hung up and snags on everything, around corners, and I have to periodically get it un tangled. I can’t even explain the situation on the bedroom, just believe that I have lots of stuff crowding every surface, and I spill my share of water glasses, but I manage to keep the lids screwed on tight, on the bottles.
I’m always turning off fans, and the CAREGIVERS keep turning them back on, in addition to the AC. I get cold. I’m always cold. I have very little fat on my body. Of course, I am treating a bedsore very near the crack of my ass. I treat it with Neosporin and a bandaid that is NOT as uncomfortable as without a bandaid. Without the bandaid, it’s a burning/sore sensation. Covering and with the ointment, it’s a little uncomfortable but without the burning. It just won’t go away. I’ve heard people talk about bedsores from time to time and seems like they never heal.
So thhat’s all I can think of. I hope I’m not repeating TOO MUCH?

Camo Tee's now are everywhere but back then when they first came out the only thing available poor patterns that were too hot to wear for the early deer seasons.
Could you unhook the O2 long enough to get to the restroom & back without turning blue ?????
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on September 11, 2026, 05:15 PM:
No can do, ko ko. And why? The O2 means that I’m less fatigued doing anything, including going to the rest room. I have an umbilical cord hooked to the Oxygen generator. It runs day and night. I have one of those nose things and draped over my ears, which do get a little sore, on occasion. I have some felt things that has velcro and goes around the tubing, and you position it so the back of your ears don’t hurt. But I don’t understand your question? The oxygen is a definate benefit, it would be counter productive to remove it to go to the bathroom. I NEED IT.

The thought was if you could unhook long enough to get to the can and do the power dump without the O2, then back again it would avoid that tangling tubing problem.
Just thinking out loud.

YES! I welcome all advice, even unuseful advice!
I wear this O2 day and night while sleeping. It is a definite benefit. It is not optional, I fucking NEED IT!
Anyway, My wheelchair arrived this morning! Brand new! It’s a rental, don’t know what it’s costing me? But it will save time on these doctor appointments. Until now, we park in handicapped and one of my helpers will go inside and get a wheelchair they always have for this type of thing. Meanwhile, I wait it the car with the air running until they come back with one. This will be just a bit easier to break it out of the back seat and we can roll up to the entrance without further delay. Another thing is that the chairs for public use are very weird. Hard to explain but hey are candy apple red and have really stupid adjustments and levers, Hard to explain but besides, they are uncomfortable. My new one is much better!
Still bothered by a bedsore on my ass! Burns! I put a new bandaid on it every other day and dress it with Neosporin, which I believe helps. But it has not healed, burns, depending on how I’m sitting. I have always heard that these things are very stubbornly persistent. There must be some type of dressing that is comfortable and allow it to heal, at the same time.

clean it with peroxide and then cover with some Neosporin.
