I got some days off, at the last minute, thinking of doing a little hunting in Eastern New Mex., prolly around Clovis area or maybe south of there. Anyone familiar with this area? Is there a lot of BLM to hunt?

Not much state or fed land at all around there Dan.I used to hunt a couple ranches around Elida(just south). Never seemed to be the numbers around there. Need to go south southwest of there to get to some 'structure' and public land.

Don't know why you specify that particular area?

There is quite a bit of huntable land in the National Forest close to Reserve, which is on the west side. Distinct difference between west and east New Mexico. Raton has huntable areas, if nothing else, the scenery around Eagle Nest Lake is worth the drive. The area is more like southern Colorado.

Good hunting. El Bee

I may have to rethink this.

I was looking for area 500 miles closer than my second home in that Irish named town where Vic lives.

I'll probably be sleeping in my vehicle and I will bring my pup since I can't leave her at home by herself for a week or so. And since this is last minute, I was thinking someplace about the same weather as SE AZ where I normally go.
