I am becoming nostalgic since I have turned 50, Rebuilt a JS Electri Call record player, according to my wife I have begun hoarding predator calling 45 records. I recently picked up a Weems Wild call, Wally Tabor safari model with instructional record. What ever happened to Weems Wild call? I know Dan Thompson made Weems replicas, out of close to 400 cassettes in my hoard I have exactly 1 Weems. It seems like at one time they were a popular if not big player and poof.

It's like playing chess with a pigeon; no matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board and strut around like its victorious.

Not sure, but I've heard rumors that there were health problems involving strong drink.
Be that as it may, it's no secret that I'm a big fan of the Weems Dual Tone closed reed call. They can still be found on EBay now and then, usually for about $20 or less.
Very versatile call; Can be used with just the rabbit reed, just the squeaker reed or both reeds together.

I "cut my teeth" on a Circe and never really cared for the trumpet style mouth piece of a Weems. Then, I disliked when Circe went plastic. I must be hard to please?

Hello, diaphragm!

Good hunting. LB

I like the Dan Thompson Weems replica.

LB, knows it all, he's done it all, and he's hard to please. Ha.

I have a few Weems cassetts somewhere around the house.

Just don't rush to put down big bucks for Weems on EBay. They come around more often then not and sometimes it's a great deal. There are few hard to get ones that will bring big bucks though.
