I have to say that I have watched many coyote calling shows and videos over the years. Most of the videos I only watched one time. Some of them were actually painful to watch from the standpoint of being so repetitious, with no story line, but I kept watching them in case I missed something of relevance. In most cases there was nothing to be learned or provide watching enjoyment. I guess I have seen too many coyotes run into the call to receive much enjoyment out of watching it over and over with someone else. With that said, I can certainly understand the appeal to those who haven't experienced it as much.
Recently a friend of mine let me watch some of Mark Zepp's videos in my limited down time so I thought what the heck. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at the total quality of Mark's presentations. Nice story lines, personal touch with various people met along the way, lack of arrogance on Mark's part, and what I have felt is missing from most of the coyote calling videos out there which is shots of the surrounding country and wildlife seen along the way to highlight what makes the coyote calling experience what it is to so many of us who have been doing it for a long time. In contrast, I can't even watch most of the coyote calling programs on TV without being literally bored to tears. I sit there practically begging to see the surrounding countryside and turn it off in frustration at the lack of such shots.
I can honestly say, in comparison with other coyote calling videos and programs I have seen, Mark Zepp's coyote calling videos are in a class of their own.
Although I have never met the man, Kudos to Mark Zepp for getting it figured out.

You got that right, Scott. Mark is a talented guy. Big dude, must be 6'6" or so? He sent me three videos and a half a dozen calls a while ago. Every single one of the calls are unique and well done. He has the mind of an artist, the way he designs his calls.
Same thing with the videos. I agree, he goes out of his way to pan and show the terrain, certain points of interest. Seems so basic and yet many others get down to the nuts and bolts, sit down, turn on the cal and kill the coyote, pose for the hero shot. Over and over.
I agree, they bore the hell out of me, along with the crappy music. I am the same about TV shows, don't really have time. I find golf more interesting.
Good hunting. El Bee
