BucketHead Basics
There has been much written and said about Bucketheading,in fact on nearly every internet forum out there by it's leading proponent, but a lot of it is inaccurate. What follows will set the record straight for those who want their heads 'screwed on' right.
First. The 'set up' is critical. The mounting must be such that one can achieve directional control with just the slightest head movement-anything beyond a mere nod could alert a rapidly approaching yodeling Yote.Note the speaker placement on the following photos carefully.Clearly directional mobility can be achieved with the slightest movement as exhibited here.A slight up/down,left/right nod of the head can be easily made.Easy to achieve you ask?Hardly, note the importance of the correct use of camo tape.Too much tape=loss of control and a serious risk of neck pain and whiplash should an abrupt change in sound direction be required.Too little tape=Loss of control of course but also the risk of injury to your firearm, yourself, your partner, and damn near anyone within a mile or so should the speaker crash down on your rifle.
Note also the total situational control proper mounting gives. Not only is the shooter 'on his piece',he is obviously in a position to change sounds and volume should he desire with his remote in hand.(Sidenote:The foremost authority on bucketheading does not advocate anything less than FULL volume all the time and he has experience ranging from the windswept road ditches of Mn to 2 or 3 situational specific ranches in north central SoDak so....act accordingly. I guess. In fact do so knowing that he has conducted many 'scientific' decibel tests incorporating the latest sound technology from his uncles discarded hearing aid.)
Note on the other hand though, that if your remote is 'distance challenged',this technique has obvious advantages. This is not said to reflect on the unit shown since it's obvious that this unit is not 'distance challenged'-being nearly a full 16.7 inches from the transmitter in one of the pics.
Of course some of you may ask,is directional control important? The answer?Absolutely,at least according to it's leading advocate.Among many advantages the most important is your ability to 'control' yodeling Yotes so they come directly at you, focus directly on you,and foil their instinctual nature to go downwind of you.Sound unlikely, absolutely not!!!Just ask the foremost advocate and you'll see and hear.Over and over and over and over....

How is this possible?By the adept use of 3 or 4 'secret' sounds and maintaining 'pied piper' control of each yodeling yote you have previously trailed, photographed,GPSed and drew diagrams of.With the diagram strategically located between your knees, bounce your full volume sounds down ravines,up hills, through and around assorted structures, etc in a manner that not only attracts, but that mesmerizes totally bringing them head on into your waiting field of view.Doubt this? You shouldn't,again, just ask him.(you'll undoubtedly get visual proof via diagrams, sound bites from his dog, etc)
Sure, some of you may remember the leading buckethead has posted here, there, damn near everywhere, about cover scents and sure, that may seem inconsistent with his ability to keep yodelers from going downwind but, again, just ask and we know you'll get an answer-or two-and maybe a diagram.
Well,we hope this has answered your nagging questions about bucketheading.Hey,it's worth a try.Maybe.Maybe off season. In your house.Far away from yodelers.
Good calling!
Footnotes:
1.When asking Mr Buckethead questions, speak up he's near deaf.
2.No yodeling Yotes were harmed during this production.None.Nada.

These pics prove it once and for all that your boot laces don't go all the way to the top. LOL

Yeah, Kelly beat me to it. You can't call critters with a buckethead, in Minneesota unless it's pure as the driven snow, white. That's obvious. And, remember to remove it between stands.

Good hunting. El Bee

This just shows what an amateur I am.
I would have painted a big `ACME` logo on the sides of it and played a "Beep-Beep......Whoosh" sound loop.
(Sigh) I have SO much to learn. [Confused]

On the other hand, considering he's always concerned about making a fashion statement, wouldn't pure white conflict with his jacket and matching camo tape?

notice how the corn stalks bend as the dicimal meter creeps up.
also, in the 2nd picture, i was tring to bounce the sound off those 2 poles in the background to confuse any incomers.
had to keep the WT remote within 2feet. if it was any further it was 50/50 whether it worked or NOT.
