Well I don't know Cal and likely will tip over before I get the opportunity to meet him so I'll just go ahead and thank him here and now since I know he's on here some. For about 10 years I've relied on Major's 'Song Dog' and WT sounds when it came to coyote vocals.Frankly I thought FP's vocals sucked. Then that changed and reliable sources tell me the FP vocals I now love are due to Cal.Thank you Cal!
This guy in the pic below 'chatted' with me for 29,yes 29 minutes before coming in,but come in he did.And the rancher got to listen to it.This was number 6 since he called me last week and he's so happy Bearhunter and I picked up 2 more ranches today due to his efforts.Sweet!

Couple of PSs.
Bearhunter this one is laying 40-50 yds from where you set up a couple days ago.(sorry, couldn't resist)
Randy R,yes, the 243 does need to stick out the window when I travel with the suppressor on.

I love the stands where they "talk" to me and then come on in.
Love that scenery too..

Without trying to do the leg hump dance, Cal has always struck me as a no nonsense, real deal sort of guy. Some of the rest of us, however, need to be watched very closely.
Hell of an alkali flat you're hunting.
No; wait.............that's SNOW????......in APRIL?????
BwaaaaHaaaaaHaaaa!!!!!!!!!
I was on my archery range this morning wearing shorts & flip-flops.
April fool me, will ya!!!

Great pic! I agree with ya. I use at least one of Cal's sounds on every single stand.

Great pic.

KoKo you are a cruel person.

Yup I have to agree Cal's recordings for FP have definitely improved their sound library by quite a margin.
I do have to ask how you like that Shockwave? I just got one and haven't even headed out in the field with it yet. Still love my CS24B, but life doesn't exactly suck having a Shockwave as an alternative.

Nice pic, indeed! What the hell is wrong with that rifle, though? It seems to be missing the bolt handle....

Good catch, kabloomer. Now, where the hell is it!
Good hunting. El Bee
edit: a little joke on Cal. Yeah, a reserved guy. We were at the Worlds a few years ago and I was sitting across the table from him. The waitress set his plate down and he wasn't eating it like the rest of us. What's the matter, Cal? Oh nothng, I just like my steak well done, is all. So, we said hey, send it back, they will fix it for you. And, he did.
Then while he was waiting for it, we started in on him; said that's the worst thing you can do is send a steak back to the kitchen. They spit on it and throw it on the floor before you get it back, etc. He didn't say anything but really looked at that steak with the fisheye, when it came back. I'm pretty sure he didn't enjoy it much even though we all said that it's not really true. He sorta squirmed a little, I don't think he was used to anybody yanking his chain?
But, he's a good man. I like him, a lot. LB

Ursus,
So far I love the Shockwave.Way to sophisticated for me to ever fully use but it's growing on me daily and the remote is so great my old eyes are very happy.Despite the fear KoKo may use this against me,it was zero here yesterday and about 10 degrees this morning.(note the wool gloves laying there)No sweat,I can easily work the remote with gloves on-something I've never been able to do before with any other unit.Remote is simply super!
K,
I've always shot both left and right handed.I've also had a retina detachment in both eyes(Docs say recoil related-another story)so now most of the time I'm shooting left handed cause that's the 'better' eye.

yes. i recognize that weed on the left
and you did'nt call that one in. he came to the spot i sat just to piss
now dammit.....leave some for "seed"
i was out on recon the other morning and started thinking about the varied terrains we all hunt. most cannot believe how flat and ugly it is around here so i stopped and took a picture. this is what 75% of this area looks like... no kidding!!
and a couple other recent pics

Cal's sounds call four legged critters in the northeast too. But beware, them Yankee dogs are smart!

Cal eats his steak well done? Learn something new everyday...
Now I can imagine him sipping one of those iced coffee things through a straw with lots of whipped cream and sugar, but a burned steak?
I'm a fan of Cal's coyote sounds also. This started as a one killed coyote stand, but jumped to 3 when these two came to see what that Cal's whipped pup was carrying on about.

If you don't want some disgusting food borne disease, eat well done every time. I get all my food well done, because I like living.

That you Lonny (member #19)? That is a good lookin' rifle.

Good job on the coyotes on such an occasion.
Weeny? I cook weenys well done too!

The coyote sounds do mean a lot to me and I have worked on that deal pretty hard. A lot of kudos go to Steve Dillon and the editing. He is a genius in that department. I can send him 20 minutes of stuff and tell him what I think we want and he makes it work. And Leonard, I'm sorry, but I'm a rare steak guy all the way. Just tip his horns and wipe his ass and throw it on a plate. A good veterinarian should have a 50/50 chance of saving it. So I don't remember the exact circumstances. But I don't think it was because it was underdone!

Whew!!! Thank god.'Well done' is for....well, let's just say it's not right.

Man, I hate when the other party comes in and ruins a funny story.
I think those sounds mean a lot to a bunch of us. As I've said before, best coyote sounds out there, IMHO. And from what I've seen, the coyotes around here seem to agree.

Steak should look like a charcoal briquette when it's done; the same with hamburgers. A hot dog should look like a shriveled up black guys toe.
Anyone that eats it near raw is possibly in the closet... And a Democrat... Aww never mind.
Dahmer liked his meat raw.
Cal's recorded vocals? I've heard great things about them.

That is indeed member #19. I had forgotten about that Mayan thing. Guess we dodged that bullet anyway?
My wife always orders her steak burnt to a crisp and I've seen her send it back for more flames a time or two. It just seems so wrong when she tells the waitress "Well done, very well done." I just kinda shrink down in my seat a bit and pretend to stare at the menu.

Thanks DiYi. The remote is the only thing I've played with so far with the Shockwave and it seems considerably more user-friendly than any FP remote I've used before.

Burnt fat is the bees knees.
I'm not sure why, but, I pictured #19 as a bit older. You're a young buck.
