I know this photo has been posted a time or two, and usually it comes with lots of guesses as to where it was taken, or false statements about who and where. If memory serves me correctly it was taken in one of the Dakota's, I'm thinking South Dakota. I also want to say it's a couple of hard core predator hunting brothers that took all these critters. I figure someone on this site would know the true origin of this picture. So where and who is this?

It's got to be from Mini-Soda.
Anywhere else and they would have just bought fiberglass insulation & new siding.
Sorry Tim, that was just to easy to pass up.
That photo's been around the block a few times. I heard once that it was taken up in Canada somewhere. We can probably rule out that it's RedFrog.

Marty something or other. He is in Canada and snares most of them.
edit: Marty Senneker

He should have saved some for the other guys
I'd like to know where this is too so I don't go hunting in his area
Actually, I'd be willing to bet this was the result of a long term effort...say a yearly total?

Take it to the bank that it's Marty Senneker and kick all the other thoughts from your mind.
He takes about 900 a year through trapping and snaring, some calling.

I'm with koko. There are more efficient ways to insulate a barn.
That photo took a lot of work, climbing ladders, etc. Snares, huh?
Good hunting. Lima Brav 0

Snares, yeah, eh.
A pic of him standing there with a scoped rifle is kind of misleading, unless he shoots them from long range while snared or held by foot.

I wonder what kind of R-value he's getting on that old barn with all that fur? He might be onto something there.

Why would a person 'put up' non prime coyotes. I would also guess that he shot a few coyotes also. Any one putting up fur would take them however they could get them. I have seen end of the year pics with dogs, wives, kids etc., why not a rifle? I see a guy who worked his ass off putting out and maintaining a trap/snare line. He then spent slot of time in the fur shed. I hope they sold well.

He can put whatever he wants in the picture, it's his picture. I'm simply pointing out that, if you don't know who he is or what he does, it can be misleading. Ppl might think he called every single one in to the gun, which in this case, simply isn't the case. I bet he doesn't care much for what the picture conveys as far as the gun goes either.
Once the picture is taken out of the original story and stands on its own, it's up to the masses to do their homework and put the story back into context with the picture. He puts up in the neighborhood of 900 animals a year, this looks like a small portion of that and I'm not gonna count them.
Whether he ran every one over with a tractor or snared them or called them in or poisoned them, it's still a hell of a lot of work.

Good catch Koko. I think it's the old 416 model based on speaker size.

Correct on Senneker. And yes he's a big time snare guy in Alberta. And I don't care how he gets them, that's a lot of work. I posted about my friends in North Dakota last year with over 400 called and shot and another few hundred snared and all skinned fleshed and stretched. I went and saw that, over a thousand put up coyotes in one place. It was impressive and they did close to the same numbers this year. Last I heard they had called and shot over 350 so far this winter. And a pile more snared.

Assuming an Oct. thru Jan. fur season of right about 120 days, 900 coyotes comes out to an average of 7.5 animals a day. Every day. For four months. Including holidays & sick days.
Even if he's hiring out putting up the fur, that boy's flat out busting his ass.

It's impressive, that's for sure. There has to be miles of snares going to have that kind of success. I did it years ago when I lived in Minnesota and had even better success!!!

3 Toes I think it was your friends I was mixing this photograph up with. Didn't they take a similar photo?
Posted by 3 Toes (Member # 1327) on February 07, 2013, 06:22 PM:
They did sorta have one similar. I'll see if I can find it.
