Yep got confirmation the other day. Called him direct and he said the contest is not happening. I didnt press as to why. Just told him I thought he did a great job and it was always a great time.

Hate to say, but no. We have been so dry and hot. Most of the strip pits are very low, along with the lakes. The water buzzards will be roosting in th shallows of the lake soon, may head after the channels then.

That sucks!!! We are waiting for the reservoirs to start letting out water and get the river back up. They have not let water out since fathers day here. Needless to say the rivers and creeks are pretty darn low. Should get good here pretty soon though.
I got to try some noodling down there in OK over the 4th. Met up with some buddies at Kaw Lake. Was pretty fun. Lots of flatheads on rod and reel this year for us. Ive landed two 26 lbers this summer. I will have to get pics up of the first one I caught......its a pretty crazy story. Was using a white jig on my lightweight rod going for wipers and white bass and caught a 13 inch channel....which then got ate by a 26lb flathead. Like I said crazy haha. Im ready for this heat to get the hell out of here. 107 here yesterday
