Just had one of those moments that come along every once in a while.

I've been trying to get a photo of a coyote with a ground squirrel in its mouth. To that end I've been shooting squirrels on my property and placing them outside the living room window. I'm well over a hundred squirrels since last summer and tonight I finally was around, and watching, and it was before dark. So I got some pictures. Big Deal. Just something I wanted to do.

So here's the good part.

One coyote of the pair (male?) let the other (female?) eat both squirrels a couple minutes apart. Then they went about 50 yards down a little ravine and she put out.

Buy a bitch dinner...

It was getting dark but I could clearly see one of them scratching with front paws to make a litte clearing or bed. There were bushes close to the ground blocking my view but I was sure of what they were doing.

I took a chance and slipped out the door snuck up to 25 yards from them and sure enough, they were stuck together. Butt to butt and they would twist around and be doggie style. Back and forth several times. They definately saw me but kept at it. At least 5 minutes. What a stud! A lot of nuzzleing too.

Anyway, I didn't grow up on a farm or ranch so this was my first rodeo.

Ain't life grand...

The race is on to release a COYOTE PORN DVD.

This pair might be just the ones for a DVD. There were times they were both looking right at me.

My wife is always asking what's wrong with me, I'm always on the computer reading about coyotes, while other guys are on the computer looking at girls. Now I guess I'm guilty of live coyote porn.

Geez...The female was a long legged blonde.

Join the club, ronfin. Predator hunting has caused the majority of divorces among my friends and acquaintances. Women just can't tolerate being second fiddle. They ask their friends if it's NORMAL, and they all say nope

Sometimes, I agree. It ain't normal, is it? But, is it wrong? Depends on what wife you ask. I don't know how mine put up with it as long as she did?

Good hunting. LB

My wife, bless her heart, advised me this year that I "abandon her, physically and emotionally, during hunting season". Guess she has me there since I'm gone most of the time and am too tired to give a chit when I am home. LOL But, she knows it's my passion and I was like that before she met me, while we dated, and ever since. Probably be like that after the divorce, too, so it isn't like I'm gonna learn some kinda lesson. Said it before, but the guy that taught me taxidermy - I asked him once what it took to be at the level he was at and his stone-faced sober reply was, "At least three ex-wives." Prolly applies to coyote hunting, too.

My wife puts up with me spending my winters calling. The first (and only) time she walked in and found me skinning a bobcat led to a very tense afternoon.

She's a keeper, so I don't do any more skinnin'...(at least not at home).

I think predator hunting vs wifes is a lot like building and riding Harleys. All the years I was single I found that spending every waking moment building a new bike in the garage would usually cost me a girlfriend. On the other hand, having a bike to ride made it quite easy to meet her replacement.

That was just girlfriends, the right wife is a whole different deal. Glad I quit riding just before I met my wife.

You actually sound very compatible, domestically. My hunting partner, Pat, with whom I spent countless hours and miles in a cab, he used to work on his bike in the living room.

Pat used to offer me advice about my marital situation, you know, kissing up to her after being gone all weekend. He said if he ever got married, he would explain how things were going to be, right off the bat. It took a few years, but eventually, he had a whipped dog attitude and was looking to pick up trinkets, much worse than I ever had to deal with. Of course, my wife was a Saint, hardly ever complained, and when she did, it was because she didn't like me being away from her, whereas, with Pat, she was happy to see him go. And, still complained when he went. Typical female.

I am wondering if the two coyote's mentioned in this thread are some kind of freaks of nature. Coyote's mating in April? This story is one for Ripley's Believe it or not. Edit: I went up and looked again, and noticed the first post was made in FEBRUARY. [Big Grin]
