Am I seeing a purple bullfrog sitting on a prickley pear pad about to get hammered by a judge's gavel??
I gotta hear the story on that one.

What, Koko? You mean to say that you don't have one just like that? LOL, Very cool looking. Love the finish on those. How do they sound?

Beautiful howler, maybe too pretty to take to the field (LOL). Hate to show my ignorance, but are we talking about "Huntncarve Dave" from FinsnFur or is it another Dave. I am not real familiar with all the members of the forum here.

That would be the Dave Al.

I put those photos on PM yesterday, and they already "fixed" the post for me. Didn't even last 12 hours.

I'm shocked the pic lasted 12 hours. 12 seconds would be more like the norm for that place. Those boys must have either let their guard down or someone was asleep at the wheel.

I agree, after the war, that would be a kewl matle piece. However, I wouldnt give nearly that much for it. I bet if you ask either of the Richs, George, you can get one made just like it.
BTW, I got some longhorn calf horns I want to make howlers out of. Never done it, but Im gonna give it a whirl. George, you get first crack. LOL

I need to get around a little more because I just noticed that this is crossposted on another board where the significance of hammering a purple frog starts to make a little more sense, if you put it in the context of PM and Redfrog. Is that what's worth all the money; the "message"? And, the owner is even from Alberta, how poetic? Whatever. But I see why it got someone banned, over there. Man, I'm dense!
Good hunting. LB

Hi Leonard, I am particularly feelumbad this a.m. with my sinus infection progressing, but I can't help but ask you if you are having any trouble with the presets that work when the frog's ass puckers.
If you'll reconsider Big George's offer, I'll pledge $5.00 I don't have since my recent trip to the horsepistol to help defray the old alligator hunter's overhead.
Posted by pitw (Member # 3685) on October 28, 2010, 06:52 AM:
Leonard as I have not figured out how to quote you on this forum yet[computer stupid] I have to address your response this way. Yes I'm from Alberta[born and raised 100 years since my grand dad walked here from down south] but if anyone calls the Redfrog an Albertan it would be to me like someone calling an invasive species "indigenous ".
Posted by Rich (Member # 112) on October 28, 2010, 08:27 AM:
So RedFrog and PitW are the same person? No wonder the frog howler ain't for sale.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 28, 2010, 08:30 AM:
Al, I didn't have any prob with presets, at all. Randy Reeves showed me his "cheat sheet" he has stuck on the back of his TX500. I failed to get a blank one from him, but I intend to do something similiar because I can't remember anything but P2, P3, and P9?
Pit, I'm going up that way, in December, (Edmonton, (maybe Saskatoon) then on to Shellbrook) I'm going to do a little hunting with my buddy, Albert Pilling who wins all the contests up there, these days. He must be famous, now, since I taught him everything he knows. Me and Huber.
So, Redfrog is your neighbor, huh?
Good hunting. ElBee

How could you be so disrespectful to such a great man (in his mind) or is that such a great reptile. I'd autograph that call in a NY minute.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 28, 2010, 11:13 AM:
I'm sure you meant, "amphibian", right?
Hey, since you didn't show up, we all talked about ya. DanS said he wanted to show and tell a rifle you did for him that he is ever so proud of, but we voted to make the campsite an AR FREE ZONE, this year. Too bad, but rules are rules. lol
Good hunting. LB

I had my (used to be mine) 17 Rem AR, and the 6WOA upper you did for Brent. I was even going to let loose an Airedale, but there was too many of them. So I used My Fav 22-250 AI...
You just can't unleash all that at once on some people.

Never heard of Albert Pilling but that is hardly any surprise as I don't do any contest hunts. I've hunted coyotes since one ate my favorite fowl when I was 8-9years old. Killing them is my way of getting even I suppose but they are also by far the most fun there is out here on the prairies. I did go down to KY last February just to see what the problem with the fellows in the East was for getting coyotes and I'm now glad I never beaked off about some of their success rates as it is an entirely different game there.
I am situated just about half way from Edmonton to Saskatoon and drive by Shellbrook probably 10 times a year. Do you hunt coyotes in Saskatchewan too?
Rich said, "So RedFrog and PitW are the same person? No wonder the frog howler ain't for sale. [Big Grin]".
That could make me an enemy for ever as there is more integrity in every piece of snot I blow out than in that [Stupid computers won't let me type what I want to say]'s being.
Barry
If you mean neighbor as in [Living in close proximity] to me as opposed to {person I'd visit or help in any way]. Then yes the amphibian slithered in to my area[some thirty miles away] about 8 years ago.

redfrog the cold blooded belly crawling snake, is a reptile.

Hey Rich,
PitW is one of the only good Canadians I know! He's an alright guy from what I've seen and read over at F'n'F. I know he hates the frog as much as any of us do, like SEMP said, maybe more! LOL
Did you guys know Redfrog was really from California... honest, that's where he used to live!

In the meantime, I'm renting the upstairs bedrooms to Canadian tourists. Never heard of Albert Pilling? Unbelieveable!

My belly isn`t my signature like some I know. I have another feature that has been used for identification purposes.

I usually have it turned down so as not to offend anyone.

But can turn it up quickly when in close proximity to slithering frogs.

(note the belly)
And then there is always this way of identifying me.

Leonard, something else you might or might not consider that can help you remember your ten presets: With your KiYi of choice taking up Preset 1, that leaves 9 to remember. If you use Preset 0 in the way I have explained before to quieten your ecaller without actually muting it so Foxbang will work, that reduces you to 8 to remember. Arrange Preset 2 through 4 as your favorite coyote vocals, and that only leaves 5 to remember. Then do Preset 5 through 9 as your favorite prey species distress, and you have all ten memorized, all based on preferential order.
Good hunting at ya!

Its for damn certain he is not the toadster.

Posted by Krustyklimber (Member # 72) on October 31, 2010, 10:42 PM:
Pitw could be Jerry Malbeck though, since they both have the same two "identifying features" I think... well at least the first one.
So I gotta ask, Pitw, how'd ya lose the digit?
Krusty
Posted by Possumal (Member # 823) on November 01, 2010, 05:47 AM:
Krusty, he no doubt was trying to perfect the Buckethead shuffle on the frozen tundra, and pinched it right off when the handle closed on the digit when he fell head first into a pile of, well a pile is nuff said.
Posted by Rich (Member # 112) on November 01, 2010, 07:40 AM:
Jerry Malbeck? Isn't he the feller who used to mount
a low power scope on top of the regular scope on his black rifle?

I've lost car keys I never found either. This one managed to get itself smashed between a piece of flying metal and a very solid structure. Pretty lucky really as it was only a couple inch's from my head.

Hey Leonard, do you still have that pretty Higgins howler? I will give you $1.50 for it.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on February 07, 2011, 10:15 AM:
Of course I still have it! I keep it in a hermetically sealed mayonnaise jar in the gun safe between trips. Used to make it hard to blow, but then I came up with a solution to keep it in the jar with the mouthpiece upright, which makes cleaning simple. I just shake it off and wipe it out with the tail of my shirt. No more gobs of mayonnaise choking me on the first series. UGG! That stuff gets nasty, when not refrigerated for a while, but it is helpful when I forget the "mist."
A buck and a half? You must really think I'm stupid? I could get twice that, without even trying!
Good hunting. LB
