Have been out trying to put a sharp stick in bambi and just as the sun is setting the damnned coyotes would light up around my location. The temps are just starting to moderate a bit , you know under 110 its been in the high 90's and actually cooling in the evening high 70's. Back to the coyotes they sound like they are calling me ,instead of me calling them. I cant stand it any more at least time for a couple of early A.M. stands on monday after the gainfuuly employed are back at work.
I usually can wait for Oct. to roll around but construction being what it is I may as well make use of the time.Dont have fox bang or any super secret new weapons but will just have to see what a little old fashioned callig will produce.
And yes I know its not prime fur yet but wont be until nov.
Thats just too short a season for me.

p.s. bambi got away clean again early archery ended yesterday and putting an arrow in a desert mulie still evades me.Im not sure if I do it for fun or just to punish myself. LOL

I can relate...

I spent six days in the high country, trying to stick a decent mule deer buck, week before last. Coyotes howling all around me every night in camp.

Slept in the last morning. Coyote howling just out of camp while I drank my coffee. Sounded like the same one I had heard from that direction every night. And sounded like an old male (I know, I know...).

Walked about 400 yards out of camp and started calling. He came galloping in after about two minutes. Checked up 30 yards out, exactly like I had hoped. But flared as I came to full draw.

No shot. But dang, just seeing that big old coyote charging in, that felt good...

As I rolled through Virginia, the last couple days, I couldn't keep from feeling like I'd like to be out calling.
I kept thinking of that snake oil salesman guy in the Truth video (that makes that T-seat dealio) hunting over soy beans.

These woods, out here, don't look so bad to hunt in. [Roll Eyes]

When I go by the Capitol building next week I'll remember to give the HNIC the finger for y'all, right after I give it to him from me!

Who believes that "prime" crap in Arizona? Yeah right. There is about three days they prime up in mid January, just before they start to get rubbed. As Mr Jackson would say; Stay after them!

I'm getting antsy, myself. But, I'd have to hunt with a Minaska untill next week. I don't know if it's worth it?

Good hunting. ElBee

I got the same itch as you Paul but I'm going to hold out till the 16th of the Month. [Razz]

I had a busy day today with all the rain. Decided to go shopping for a RV so I can go mobile this year on the coyotes. I got one picked out and should get it home next week, now the big problem is where should I put it first? ( Mic Neal AZ., Wyoming, Montana or one of the Dakotas) [Big Grin]

I hear that the coyotes are so thick around ****** that you need a shotgun in each hand. Kinda like shooting at a covey of quail when they come running to your calls. Oh my Gosh, that town is so popular that the name of it is censored. MAKNEEL!!!!

If you call the coyotes in close, you won't NEED a high dollar range finder.

Yup, it's censored because I have friends down there and I hate to see all these Internet lurkers making the trip from Ohio, etc. just to kill a coyote. And Vic is too busy building baloney sandwiches for the migrants to show all the AR wackadoodles where his honey holes are. ElBee

I know Vic dose'nt like to travel very far from home, so all those coyotes he kills every year must be close by. [Wink]

Tim, I hunted near Mac Neal last year and had one of my best days. However, I also had a couple hair raising moments when I encountered some pick up points and resting areas for border crossers. Be careful down there or that new rifle might wind up in some coyotes hands and at best you will have a hole in your hat. LOL

LOL Dusty. I was trained for that sort of stuff, could make my trip interesting if I ever decided to hunt down that way. Is there any limit to how many I could take or a bounty???? [Wink]

"Is there any limit to how many I could take .........???"

No, Tim;
According to Leviticus 25:44 you may own slaves, male or female, as long as they're from neighboring nations. Take all you need, but need all you take. Leave some for the rest of us.

This could be the REAL reason that McNei1 is on the no-no word list. [Eek!]
