The Varmint Hunters Assoc. in Pierre SD will be holding a Mr. Coyote Contest Sept. 18 2010.
Contest will consist of a Calling and Shooting Competion.
Gongs at undetermined ranges randomly drawn.
Running coyote target event.
Speed shooting of gongs.
Shotgun skills on rabbit clay targets.
Calling aspects, judged in two areas, coyote vocalizations and distress.
Details can be found on VHA website or contact me.
$40 entry fee limited to 50 people.
I think it will be a very well rounded competion crowning a well derserved title of Mr. Coyote 2010.
This has been a part of the VHA Jamboree for a few years but interest has grown to make it an event requiring its own day. This year time did not allow for it, rain delays etc.
So come on up to gods country, luv to see some of you here.
May be a party afterwards in the ole garage!!

I'd love to make the jamboree sometime!
I have a couple of shooting buddies that go every year... Charle Bland and Dave Boyer. Both have had wins in different categories and as a team. Dave won the Mr.Coyote contest in 2007! These guys can really shoot!

Pics added: This got me remembering a long time ago... 2004! My daughter was 11 and shot with us in this varmint competition. Katie hit 19/25 out to 525yds! I think Dave won this rifle at the VHA Jamboree... if you see him Randy, tell him hello!
