A few month's ago Lance H. asked me if i had any hunting pic.'s that he could use to go along with a hunting article he was working on for the Trapper & Pred. caller mag.. I said i had some so i sent them to Lance and he sent them in for a looking over.. Anyway they liked one of them and i got it published along with Lance's article. No big whoop but thought I'd share plus my friends at home got a kick out of it.. Thanks Lance..
I read the article and it was pretty good but thought you could of added more to the calling part of it, but still a good read none the less... [ January 22, 2010, 02:33 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

Congratulations Tim, nice work.
But the important thing is did it have a picture of you with a 17 caliber rifle and WT caller posing in it?

Tim did provide me with some dandy pics that fit the topic to a "T". Thanks, Tim. It's nice to have people in different parts of the country that can provide me with a photo or contribution here and there to help reinforce the subject of the piece when needed. Unfortunately, there is only so much space allotted to each piece and you have to prioritize what goes and what doesn't.
Glad you and your friends like it.
Kinda neat to see something you did in black and white, isn't it? Just so you know, 47k people, give or take, received that issue this week. Add to that the number of people that get it hand-me-down or what not and that's a whole bunch, maybe more.

Tim gets some really nice pics of snow scenes that I enjoy looking at. I wouldn;t live in that again on a bet, but I enjoy seeing the photos.

It is fixed.
Acron, pronounced "ache-run", is what squirrels and blind sows eat, at least in MO.
Acorn is a radical left wing group of fuckheads that stole the last election for Obama and gives advice to people on how to keep from paying taxes on revenues from 12 yr old hookers. [ January 23, 2010, 10:19 AM: Message edited by: Andy L ]

Thanks, Andy. BTW, speaking of BO, are you a fan of "24"? From what I understand, the writers and producers are pretty pro-conservative in their views as they're friends with people like Beck and Limbaugh. In any event, I have a lot of fun, as a serious fan of the show, looking for the subtle anti-liberal features in the story line. In this year's stuff, the most glaring example is a black man in charge of the new CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) who is obviously under qualified as hell, ignorant about how the real world works, refuses to acknowledge Jack Baur's vast experience, and acts like everyone should just go along with his way of doing things because, in time, he'll be right... especially when he's so willing to take credit for when other people are right. The parallels are amazing.

I have to wonder, if they needed a double fold out, to fit TA's photo in the magazine... or if it was properly resized, so as to fit with Lance's way too many words?
Lord, pygmies, and all that.

I used to work with a guy who had a budding outdoor photographer move in next door. The photographer was always asking my co-worker, Ken, to be a model for his outdoor pics that he sold to the outdoor rags. Ken barely hunted, but he posed for pictures on ridge-tops with huge elk racks strapped to his back and held shotgun's with a look of admiration on his face as a dog he didn't own gently laid a rooster pheasant in his hand. He was in all kinds of pictures scattered across many magazines. The photographer even used Ken's girlfriend for posing with pistols and the latest WizzBang Magnum
Ken is a humble and quiet sort of guy and never told anyone at work about his pictures being in all the big outdoor mags numerous times. I was probably one of the few that even knew. The photographer often gave Ken copies of the magazines his pictures were in. Ken didn't want them so he would bring the magazines into work and leave them in the lunch room where they got read over and over by other co-workers. Funny thing was, it must have took at least a year before somebody even noticed it was a fellow worker in the pics and when they did it was his girlfriend they noticed first.

They could of resized it to any size they wanted but they chose to give my pic. half a page. That was very nice of them.. Lances article covered hunting over bait pretty good but thoght he could of added more to the calling arond bait or dead cows. But hey it was his article and good none the less... ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Lance finally wrote a good article? Hell, congrats are in order!
It probably was way longer, and they had to whittle it down.
Lord, and pygmies, again...

Not really, he is asking how you have personal knowledge about such an intimate detail? But, that's just a guess, as I have never been in prison.

BTW, LB, just got back from going to dinner with my dad. He wanted to go to that Cave Restraunt by Richland. I think I remember you saying you went there while you were here?
I wasnt all that impressed. Pretty kewl place. Not often you see a restraunt built in a cave. Nice view of the Gasconade. Food lacked alot. Novelty deal.
There used to be a low water bridge there where the new bridge is now. Just a concrete slab with a couple of oversized culverts under it. If the river was up much, you couldnt cross. I used to put my boat in there quite a bit and fish. Downstream there are some islands I used to turkey hunt alot too.
One time I took a guy turkey huntin there that had been buggin me to take him for quite a while. We put in and ran down to the islands. Had a great morning. I called him in a big ole bruiser that put on a hell of a show. He killed it and all was well, til we got back to the truck. The game warden was there, who was a friend of mine. We shook hands and exchanged pleasants. I told him Lou had a turkey and I was just callin, didnt even have a gun, and went on loading the boat while he and Lou looked at the bird. You know that SOB didnt have a fuckin tag!! I was sooo pissed. Thank god the warden didnt hold it against me. I was afraid he would. He took the bird and gave him a ticket for a hefty fine. I about made that bastard walk home. LOL
