I was out the last couple of nites locateing coyotes and last nite i saw some eyes in the road ditch so i went back today to see what they where.
I found eight of the cute little guys in a pipe. I'll keep a eye on them and drop off any gophers i shoot this week for them. [Big Grin] http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f208/TA17Rem/foxpictures0092.jpg[/IMG]] -

With that much disturbance at the den site (handling, walking around) leaving scent in general there's a real good chance that they are already gone. Most of the time the bitch will move them over a lot less disturbance.

Neat pics though

Yes thats possable.. I was back there again today and three of the pups where outside the den rolling around.. They saw the truck and went back in so i dropped off a bird and a few more gophers and then left.. I got a few more gophers so i returned again to drop them off and the pups where outside again so i tossed the gophers by the den entrance and just sat there and waited...About ten minutes later they where back out so i got a few more pics of them and left.. Reds are stupid. All the smarts of your average muskrat. There would be a lot more of them in this country if they wouldn't den is such visible locations. Almost impossible to get em to move so sooner or later someone kills them.

I saw more reds in Canada than I ever saw in my life, which was ONE, previously. They were extremely wary, stop the truck and they ran off faster than a coyote in Kansas. And, same deal, 600 yards out.

Good hunting. LB

I give them a little more credit than that..
They are not as smart as a coyote but will give alot of hunters a run for their money. [Roll Eyes]

There is one thing a cow,no i take that back a kit fox.I don't harvest kit fox.But one night i stoped the truck to play with one.By the time i got the truck in park got out and got my lite on. The damn kit fox ran under the truck and around my feet a few times. And then i got the lite on it.I made afew lip squeaks are at least those lip smacking sounds when you call a pup. the kit fox came back to with in about 10 feet That fox hung around for what seamed like a long time.My nite lite has a strobe so i hit him with that, well thats when it got the hell out of doge!
I have seen alot of fox mostly red fox and last season.I think thats be cause there in areas with low coyote numbers, but i don't know if thats true are not.And hey is that a corn feild your in? And i see you have a jacket on.I was camping out in Arizona about two weeks ago in some high country where it was nice and cool. But in the flats it was around 102. No calling are caller but it is a place i will be going back to next fall for sure.

Now thats prime coyote country!
