Welcome to The New Huntmasters, xtremehunteraz. Glad to have you on board....although I must say, I hate the word "extreme" in any context or application. Nonetheless. Glad to have you on board.

Now who is Barry Fifer, and who is sponsering this event? Where will it be held, etc.?

Good hunting. LB

Barry Fifer was a friend of ours in xtreme predator callers.com He died a year ago last November while he was on his way to our hunt.So now we have a memorial hunt for childrens charities in his honor. Last year was our first and this will be the second. Each team consists of two people and each team costs 100.00 to enter. The hunt is held in Arizona at the end of MarchLast year the charity that recieved our support was camp rainbow a cancer childrens camp . We can have up to 100 teams but you have to apply by March 15.

Sorry.......But I don't kill pregnant / denning coyotes with rubbed fur this time of year.
I'll have to pass regardless of the worthy cause. It's an ethics thing.

extremehunteraz, I think you are doing a good thing by supporting children's charities, especially anything that has to do with Cancer. God bless you guys for that.
It's a Long time practice by many older predator callers that they don't hunt during breeding or denning season.

I don't know what planet you guys are from but when you put coyotes and their denning season above children with cancer you should review your pusillanimous existence. I'd kill 5,000 pregnant coyotes to save 1 child with cancer. That's some of the weakest shit I've ever read!!!
Ethics!? That HAS to be, no it IS, seriously one of the most morally bankrupt statements I've ever seen. I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. It's an ethics thing. You'd understand.

Thank you for the support . I think we are going to donate to a burn camp also this year. Our season ends at the end of March and I understand where some of you are coming from with the pregnant coyotes thing but I also think it is for a greater cause.

Ethics are fine and I agree with not killing females that time of the year.

So I'm just going to kill unmarried and homeless males that come to the WT caller I use. [Smile]

I believe the bone of contention is the timing?

There are a number of reasons to honor the denning season for recreational hunters and I won't bother to list them here.

Why would there be a need to choose between 5,000 coyotes and a child cancer patient? Just donate the money as you see fit, and forget the drama.

Good hunting. LB

True. The timing may be wrong when he's on fire. I may not have to piss at that time.

Holy cow! I love the idea of a memorial hunt with the idea of truly giving back to society. Talk about a worthy cause!

I'm hoping smithers was just in a bad mood. I don't think anyone would ever consider saving an animal over any other human being.

Xtreme, could you please post info for persons who may not be able to go, or would prefer to hunt during other times of the year?

CrossJ, you could put it out with some of your breast milk. [Smile]
What makes you think a person on fire would be standing? You're being a bit of a misogynist by suggesting that women can't pee on men to put out fires.

I should have been more specific. Is there a person we could send donations to? I can't make the hunt.

Smithers,

I didn't realize that you were someone of such high moral and ethical standards.

Tell me, What groups have you personally volunteered in, during the past 12 months, that has gone to the aid of Children, the elderly, or those who can not help themselves?

With your high moral and ethical standards, will you be attending this hunt, or making a donation to the cause?

I don't believe that we've actually ever met so that's understandable. Where would you get the idea that I was unethical or immoral?

It'd be fun to make this out to be whether or not I personally give of my time or money to charities but we won't because I don't. Although, I do occasionally drop change in those little jars at the gas station and set clothes out for Purple Heart. But again, what does that have to do with the topic at hand?

Maybe I misread your post, and you misread the post of my friend. I don't think that Kokopelli was meaning to sound derogatory towards any children with Cancer, it was just of his opinion, that this charity hunt is being held too late in the year.

It's nothing against the charity, it's just a matter of timing. Many guys don't like to kill coyotes at this time of the year, unless they need to. Had the hunt been held in December, a lot more guys might be willing to participate.

It was not my intention to insinuate that you were of low morals or ethical standards. That's none of my business. Whether or not you choose to help out another person who is in need, is solely your choice. It's not my place to pass judgment on you. Some folks are willing to help out, and others choose not to.

First of all, let me say that responding to Smithers' inane raving would be like beating up a retard; not much challenge or point to it.

Extremehunteraz:
My problem with this event is the timing and the mission statement of Extreme Predator Hunters; "......to promote ethical predator hunting." I fail to see what is ethical about killing pregnant / denning coyotes for entertainment. And please don't tell me that you're doing ADC work. For the most part, we are recreational sport hunters, many of whom utilize the fur. The real ADC guys know who they are. The rest of us ain't. Plain & simple.

Next; Count on the fact that the dark day is coming when the contest killing of pregnant / denning coyotes will get shoved up our collective asses at the ballot box. There is no way to make this look good to the voting public. This is the same public that in Arizona voted 65/35 to ban trapping.....and now we want to publicly starve puppies in dens?? We can't make enough donations to worthy causes to off-set that kind of negative P.R.

It's one thing for a rancher to quietly pop a coyote in a calving pasture or to hire ADC to work a summer sheep range. Quite another to document an event such as this on the internet.

No good can come of this.
