LOL And I believe the osage orange, aka, hedge tree and bois 'darc, derives its name from the round almost orange-like appearance of the fruit the tree bears in fall. That fruit is a light lime green color, until it rots from constant freezing and thawing, at which time it turns a rancid shade of brownish yellow. Even the leaves simply turn brown and fall off. Never go orange. The wood is, itself, a lemon yellow until exposed to air, when it turns brown. Again, no orange. You'd better check your sources. LOL -------------------- I am only one. I've seen where squirrels will eat them when other food sources dry up, and have known more than a couple cattle to have choked on them and died, but other than that, I wouldn't touch them.
