Who is the more decorated space cadet? The one that places the smiley or the four that respond to the smiley? The board seemed in a bit of a lull for a few days so I thought some mental institution spice was in order. Prophet of Coyote Death. JD, I think, referred to it as some person's name on another board, real or otherwise it is one sour name.

What "other" boards? Who's reading other boards? And, why?
If true, that's quite a catchy handle; "Prophet of Coyote Death".
So who is it, somebody we know?
Good hunting. LB
edit: did I say catchy? I meant "corny".

Yea, I referred to it in the thread where we were bitching about stuff we didn`t like. I saw that name several years ago someplace & it always stuck in my mind as a "corny" name, like a name someone would come up with to do some trolling.
On another more serious note, I did hear that Jane Fonda is getting married to a guy named Mike Hunt.

Thanks, Leonard. Looking at that, I must admit, I look a tad effeminate with the earring and longish hair. That is the endodontist's version of a ball gag around my mouth.

It's the only tree I could think of with the word orange in it... There'd have to be a damn treeologist and botanist on the board. A SHRUBBERY!!!! You must return here with a shrubbery... or else you will never pass through this wood... alive.
Cdog, at this juncture I think it prudent that you reveal your treeology sources. Every Osage I have ever run into has not only been bright orange but damn near fluorescent. Green? GREEN!?
Is camo that stuff that makes you look like a pile of leaves? [ February 17, 2008, 05:56 PM: Message edited by: smithers ]

if your osage trees are orange... you are taking some mighty fine pills, chewing catnip or token on some ground cowshit...

The poor guy is just a midwesterner. Have pity. Maybe he thinks it's sort of descriptive, like "Palo Verde"?
Actually if you hold that osage in just the right light, it has an orange shine to it.
Sorry, didn't mean to defend him. LB

that which you speak of is called arbology, not treeology. LOL And I believe the osage orange, aka, hedge tree and bois 'darc, derives its name from the round almost orange-like appearance of the fruit the tree bears in fall. That fruit is a light lime green color, until it rots from constant freezing and thawing, at which time it turns a rancid shade of brownish yellow. Even the leaves simply turn brown and fall off. Never go orange. The wood is, itself, a lemon yellow until exposed to air, when it turns brown. Again, no orange. You'd better check your sources. LOL

Isn't it just like you people to call something orange when it appears to be green? I assume something as ugly wouldn't be edible, right?
I was refering to the finished wood. I have a Brass Rhino and it has a sort of "Cactus Cooler" color.
Good hunting. LB
PS if there was ever a topic we need not worry about staying on, thanks to smithers, this is it!

Actually, Leonard;
This thread started with a name but no topic,
We were all confused,
Then something about other boards & Jane Fonda's snatch,
A "Hey, I got my teeth knocked out again" photo of Smithers,
A "This is my waiting for the Great Pumpkin outfit" photo of Smithers,
A short study on Bois'Darc being used for calls instead of bows.
I think that we've stayed on topic pretty well. BARTENDER; Cactus Coolers all around!!!!

I know you were, Leonard. I was just funnin' with ya.
As far as edible, ... yech. I've seen where squirrels will eat them when other food sources dry up, and have known more than a couple cattle to have choked on them and died, but other than that, I wouldn't touch them. They look the same on the inside as they do on the outside.

You guys are insane.
Dear Professor of Treeology, next you'll scold me and tell me that white oaks ain't white and pin oaks don't grow pins. A picture of a pear in a dish won't sway me from my knowledge that an Osage is ORANGE.
An arborist is a guy that plants a tree once a year to make himself feel better.
Isn't Palo Verde an ancient Chinese saying for- 'add more lead'.
Literalists...
