My callin partner and myself went out this evening with every intention of night hunting,,, we had the permit and everything,,, we also had 30 mph winds.

I decided we needed to go early and hit a few spots we hadn't called this year before it got dark. Started out about 3:00 and called in a nice red colored coyote, he hung up about 300 yrds out, a shot from my buddies 22-250 sent him into the death spin only to have it jump back up and run off,,, 45 minutes of tracking and we only found blood,,, no yote.

Moved to a spot where we had the permit, (yes you have to tell the Warden EXACTLY where you are going to be) Set up on a pipeline with the the Foxpro out 20 yrd in front of us and let her rip,,,, 20 minutes in I see a bobcat cross the opening, I whispered "there's a cat" not 2 minutes later a second one is bearing down on the caller. He came from probably 300 yrds down the pipeline, I got to watch him the whole way. Since we were actually prepared for night hunting, we both had our shotguns out, he got about 30 yrds from me and I nailed him with a three and a half inch #6 Turkey Mag,,, dang those things can kick.

Weighed in at 19 lbs,,, shot hit him square in the shoulder (as you can see) but no real pelt damage  (just a little blood [Wink] )

That would be #3 for the season.

Good deal, coffee. Nice cat. That's the strangest pattern I have ever seen on a bobcat?

Good hunting. LB

Congratulations, Jason. I've never seen the tiny dot pattern up to the top of the back before either.
