I had a rancher call me about 3:00 this afternoon (he's got a quarter section behind our place) and tell me he saw a coyote 3 times this morning in the same field. My wife say "he doesn't really think you'll drive 20 miles today just to look for a coyote does he?"
I pulled up to the gate at 4:15
Got set up in my favorite field (this place is awesome!!!) Called for 20 minutes thinking the coyote would show up just any minute,,, 25 minute mark I see some sparrows flush outta the draw in front of me about 100 yrds,,,, I think to myself "it's on!!! here he comes!!"
Twenty more minutes passes any NOTHIN!!! I'm thinkin what the heck,,,, then I see movement, 5 feet from my decoy
This cat is just in full stalk mode just about to pounce

Female weighed 15lbs. 55 grain soft point wasn't as kind to this on as the last one, got a quarter sized exit but with the crouching shot I had I hit his shoulder pretty hard.

Beautiful cat, Coffee. Tyler shot one this past weekend that was an absolutely huge tom. At least so it appeared on the hoof and as it lay where he dropped it. Big ole blocky boy. Long tufts on the cheeks, nice color and spots. Weighed 14lbs. 6 oz. WTF! It looked huge.
