I heard that WY was awarded several million dollars for predator control. What is the scoop on that. Cal? Anyone?

Good hunting.

Hi Quinton, must be busy these days, have not dropped by too often, lately?

As you might have guessed, I don't want to bother with Africa next month. If you are still going, good luck to you!

Good hunting. LB

PS Yeah, (I heard?) WY got a lot of money and they gave all of it to Cal Taylor and he retired, never to be heard from again? Anybody know if it's true or not?

I don't know the exact figures, but yes, there is quite a bit of "new" money. Budgets are up and predator numbers are plummeting as we speak! [Big Grin]

Maybe in response to a new large canine in the west? [Wink]

But it is still an option.

Ya, I have been pretty busy with work lately so I don’t get on line much Leonard. Been dropping in on the Midwest board a little for “chat” but that is all. The hunt is next July not this July but I am not going unless they can arrange for another Leopard permit. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) is meeting again this summer I believe. Mozambique is going to request that their export quota be doubled do to the high populations of Leopard in their country. If that goes through before July of 08 I may be able to secure a booking. I will hunt Leopard and buffalo if I go. That is more than this poor boy can afford but it isn’t going to get any cheaper. Most of the big game I have taken in the past over there has as much as doubled in price.

Cal, I just caught a little of it on the radio and thought I heard something to the tune of 6 million dollars. I did hear that the program has been running on 240,000 annually. BTW are they ever going to give you a crack at the larger predators in the west? LOL That would be quite an experience.

Randy I don’t make them or sell them. A friend of mine ***** them or did at one time anyway. He had a website up but it has been down for at lest a year. It is a simple but very effective accuracy aid if you shoot prone.

If you saw Scott’s there really isn’t much more to say about it. It is adjustable and works best with the Harris medium swivel bipods when they are extended. Its function is to add support to the butt of the stock. It helps significantly when you are shooting at longer ranges or are out of breath. I can also steady up my shots much quicker with the device than with out it. For years Ron Sparks (the inventor) and I just used wood as a support. He fashioned his out of a wooden ruler and I made mine out of a peace of lath.

If you shoot prone you should give it a try.

Good hunting.

Q,
